For anyone who cuts wood with nails, wire, fence posts, T-posts, concrete, rocks, etc that ya can't see I suggest giving Rapco Industries a call for a chain. http://www.rapcoindustries.com/
Once ya hit a heavy piece of metal with a chainsaw, the chain is usually done. You might get some good use outta the chain but it will never be the same. The Carbide tipped chains are the way to go for dirty wood. You might bust a tooth every now and then, but its a hell of a lot better deal than tossin away a $40 chain.
They are a bit pricey at around $200 for a larger chain 28-36", but well worth it. Don't know bout the smaller chains, but they will probably be 3-4x's what a normal chain costs.

We been using them for 15 years in the fire service.....you go through shingle tar and roofing nails and a chain didn't last too long at all....but the carbide tips eat and eat.
Raptor is what we used.

We don't put as much abuse on em as the fire dept. does going through roofs, but they sure as hell are nice when about every 3rd tree in Galveston is full of nails or some type of wire. I could see how cuttin through a roof would put a short life on even the carbide chain.
