Stumbled upon a turkey nest a couple weeks ago at the farm. Was watching a swarm of bees for a few minutes, all of the sudden about 5ft away a hen exploded out of the weeds to my right like a quail and scared the crap out of me.
Figured she was hiding out as long as she could stand it, sure enough, took a couple steps and there was a nest with 10 eggs. All eggs were gone and nearly no sign of a nest this past weekend, sure hope they hatched rather than fell victim to a raccoon (nest was located a few feet from a small creek leading into our lake).

Returned to woods today and checked out the turkey nest as I was leaving--only found 4 egg shells . The 4 egg shells I found left had the shells knocked inward so guess something ate them ; I hope the other 5 survied to be at least poults .
