To put the month and all the dates in, do you each one or is there something like a template with a clear background that you can resize and Paste onto a .jpg? I tried doing it with MSPaint, but I can't get the rows even.

I know I've sent people various software but since I don't keep a list, I don't know who has what.... I don't know if you are one of them
If you have any version of Photoshop, you can make a layer(think of a stack of paper, each piece with different properties or images) and using preferences layout a grid that lets you lay everything out and keep things aligned
There is a database driven 'script' that let's you generate months etc but I don't use it
I layout the grid and do it by hand (old habit from the days of Photoshop2)--
That is one of the reasosns there are mistakes on some of the dates etc---
I'm usually just throwing the stuff together and don't 'proof' it like I should I can throw one together pretty fast so it isn't a big dealio one way or the other and it keeps some folks with time on their hands something to do finding what I screwed up
If you are trying to do this in Paint...good luck with that

I have an old disk, that I think is PS 6, but I didn't install it on this hard drive. I had it on my last one, and couldn't figure out how to do anything with it. I think I need a class or somethin'. I tried it in Paint, held a straight edge up against the monitor trying to get the rows right, but it was still no good. Maybe some day I'll learn.
Thanks for the info.

Layers is the hardest concept for most people to get in Photoshop but it is what makes the program so powerful
PS6 is the last edition that you can use without getting the register function kicking in

here is a grid in png format ( right click and save) and a psd (photoshop format-- see link below) the grid is 800 x 800 in 50 pixel intervals
the png file is like a gif on steroids and since you know about animation-- you know gif
to download the psd here is a link to it on my site
http://www.billcoatneyphotos.com/grid.psd
this will give you a layer to overlay the image you then make a new layer for the days, month etc (use the text tool)
once you get the concept of layers and how they work-- you are good to go
