Hunted out of mine for a few years with no major problems. Patched a small part on the bottom where ice dug in, but no other issues after that.
Only downfall of mine was it was really big and really heavy. Sold it before last season to a young guy who hunted it last season. So, it's still going strong.
I'm down to only one foamer that gets thrown in the jon boat when thick ice needs broken. Other than that, 3 4Rivers boats now reside on the trailer.
Still, I think the foam boats are the way to go for a person that is on a budget yet wants some comfort. My 4Rivers boat is nowhere near as comfy to hunt out of compared to the foam barge.

I've been doing good. Still getting to hunt a little although not as much as I use to, or suits me. Last year, though, I got to go quite a bit, so this job keeps me hoping I'll get to go a bunch. On the upside, for my wife, I don't know that the job will keep me from going, so I keep showing up for work.
I got to thinking about those boats a while back when my BIL was asking if I had ever built one, or had plans for one. All I ever had was some rough plans for a Kara style that I never built. He went and bought a couple of 4 Rivers and a trailer. He asked if I would ever hunt out of one again (I sold mine a few years ago) and I told him it depended on what it looked like from the road. :rotflrotfl: I'm not craving it, but there's enough ducks, I'd try it again.

Good to hear from you guys. If you all ever end up in this part of the country again, holler.

Did your head get stuck between the boat and the ice as well?
