I think this time of year might be tough on that bastard..
I'd like to fish it someday though.

Fished it 15-20 years ago, when B.A.S.S. was fishing it on their circuit (maybe they still are). I had the good fortune of fishing it with a local that I knew from some business dealings. To say one needs a guide or a local would be an understatement. We did well but I can honestly say it would have taken a week for me to figure out that lake on my own. We fished the drop-offs / shelves where the water goes from 5-10 feet deep to 20+ feet deep. He would throw out markers at the edge of the shelf about 50-100 yards apart and we would fish the drop-offs with spinner baits, rattle traps or even worms/lizards. I would have never thought to do that.
The next day we fished Wheeler without any help and did OK. I suspect we would have done much better with some local help.
For the most part, I quit fishing for the green fish years ago. My limited time to fish seems to get used for crappie and walleye. Maybe I'll go hawgin' a little this fall... Anyone want to make a little run down to Okeechobee?
