Here is a link to a pretty good summation of NASCAR as it is today

I watched "Talledega Nights" last night, with Ricky Bobby as the star of the show.
Great narrative and historical account on the present day NASCAR scene. Very informative and riveting.
The producer did a fantastic job of showing the real life issues of a split family, where the mother and father get divorced early on in a child's life. The show documents the struggles children face growing up and into adulthood as a result of a broken home.
At one point, adult Ricky has an accident on the track. After he escapes from his wrecked vehicle, he believes he's on fire!! While he's not on fire, he undresses, down to his underpants and racing tennis shoes, while STILL wearing his helmet!! No doubt a by-product of his broken childhood.
Can't wait till it re-airs on PBS soon (hopefully).
