Again, you either get it or you don't. What amazes me is how the "don'ts" are so aggressive with their bashing and trashing. I guess they feel that trying to tear it down somehow makes their favorite sport(s) better. My guess is they have done like so many others and tried it. They found out how hard it is and realized they couldn't be good at it without an investment of time, money and effort. The end result is to call every that can do it and/or enjoys it, a bunch of idiots...

Dawg and griff remind me of my father-in-law. He held equally disdainful opinions about golf and it didn't help when his twin brother and his son-in-law (me) would talk golf and even go play around together now and again. Well, as fate would have it, he ends up begrudgingly playing a few rounds and becomes addicted. For the past 20+ years he has averaged 1-2 rounds a week, when the weather is good and has taken multiple golf trips over those years. Of course I have to remind of his pre-conversion days once in a while.

And it is nice to have a sport you can play as you age. I played men's league sports well into my 40's but eventually you just can't play most of them. The physical toll or what I like to call "the-fun-to-pain-ratio" gets all out of whack and it just isn't worth it. And you can't call a workout at the gym or jogging or swimming laps a sport. I do all of those and they are just physical exercise.

And let's not forget one of the most important things about golf. You can play a round while enjoying a cold beverage, cigar and the company of some good friends!!

Mental toughness........get he mental toughness to stand in a ring toe to toe against Mike Tyson in his hayday........let alone the physical toughness. 99.99999999998627 % of the people don't rise to that occasion. I'll take the 6' putt mental game over finding the mental toughness to climb into a boxing ring with any great fighter, let alone Tyson.

So let me see if I have this straight. Because it takes coconut-size balls and some serious mental toughness to climb in a ring with Mike Tyson, that negates the metal toughness it takes to stand over a 6' putt, in front of millions of people, with both history and millions of dollars on the line? What's your next argument; I'm rubber you're glue...?

How about we agree that getting into any boxing ring for any level of championship fight against any championship fighter takes both mental toughness and balls. How about we also agree that there are dozens of other examples... None of which negate what it takes to do what the best golfers in the world do.

As far as coverage......ya the signed a deal with NBC and you have the boring Golf channel Out of 139 events for the year, the average viewership was 500,000 people per event. That includes those big event s that brings in 20-21 million, which occur over a 3-4 day period. Take out the majors and he viewership is closer to 107,000 an event for 130+ events.........FSMW broadcasts about 140 Cards games, with an average of nearly 135,000 households per game. Golf doesn't even compete with a Mid Market baseball team's viewership. Granted, it's usually the #2 or #3 market in the country.......but Golf's average without the major events can't even compete with the Cards nightly.

Hell opening night of baseball this year saw 3.7 million viewers for a 3 hour game. The damn golf match runs all damn day........and only gets an average of 6 million viewers on a championship weekend. Golf viewership keeps NBC relevant as it can be. They don't have chit else for "sports" coverage........unless you count the NBA and occasion hockey games. NBC sucks. The Golf channel sucks.

You need to get these stats in the hands of the networks ASAP!!! Clearly they don't know what their doing and could be making so much more money, if only they knew what you know about viewership and what works best for their profitability. They are going to be so grateful that you have enlightened them to the errors of their way , they may just give you some free tickets to one of the Majors next year...

Could one of the people with the keys to this place double check to see if halfasmuch has hijacked Jeff's account. While he goes of the rails sometimes, he usually doesn't tee is up like this for us (pun intended).

At my house that's called fishing. And I'm not taking time out from that just to add riding around in a clown car.

I guess if a man doesn't hunt or fish all year long...........he would take up golf.
February-May crappie & walleye fish
March-May turkey hunt
June-October walleye fish
September-January duck hunt.

I spent all weekend on the lake catching eyes. MOMO lake #3 for the year and eyes on every one of them. Gonna make it lake #4 in a few weeks. I guess you bastards suck at fishing. If you need some walleye fillets let me know. The freezer is getting full.

Here is one of today's fish from Little Dixie.

I thought Wapp was lake #4. Maybe you should post up on Ozark Anglers how Stockton isn't the only walleye lake in the state. Taney is killer also. I guess when they eat trout all damn day, they get so big.

I guess the idea that a man can fish and play golf, even in the same weekend, eludes some...

Not once while loading the boat to go fish this summer did I
Suddenly look at my golf bag and say damn.................I should probably load up the clubs to play 18 holes. While on the lake filing the livewell with walleye and 14" Crappie...........did I ever stop fishing to think damn, I'm glad I have a Tee time for tomorrow.

A few weeks ago we caught 27 walleye in about 3 hours........the whole forking time we fished..........all I could think about was why didn't we have a Tee time instead of being in the water that fine Sunday morning.

I do. I play every 5 years at the HS reunion........and occasionally for work, since none of those bastards fish. You know i don't use them much........considering we fish every damn weekend.......and Friday......and occasionally Monday. These fishing 3 day work weeks suck.

No, they probably golf....fork them...Wait, you golf too.

Well, this certainly explains your fascination with putting a Bimini top on your boat.

Ah, to hell with it, they'll find out eventually......it's not like people don't know where Clearwater Lake is.

The Bimini top is to keep you cooler so we don't have to go in for your afternoon naps and lunch. I have a grill on the Ark for a reason.

A Helix 12 and a Bimini top is alll we need to be semi-professional

Maybe we can catch a match after we fillet some fish. I'm sure the Golf Channel will have a rerun of a match 65,000 people watched. Fork.......Even Tiger Woods hates golf so much, he is busy trying to ruin his life so he doesn't have to play.
