Wu - I'm glad that lense I suggested worked out for you!! Your results were even better than mine.

That sprig photo is friggin' breath-taking! How do I get a print (or copy of the photo, preferably framed), Wu?
I recently down-sized my abode by some 75% so Lord knows I don't need more artwork, but I want one of those, dammit!
I've not seen anything rival that shot. There you have it...

Yep-- your analysis about the lens was spot on. Most of the forum members know that you are the Tech Advisor To The Stars but few are aware of your willingness to share your encyclopedic knowledge in other areas.
Your modesty and preference for helping behind the scenes means most people never know how much work you do to keep this forum working and helping many of the members make intelligent choices for tech items as well as all things related to the outdoors.

Mike
I thought an earlier post answered you but I guess it got lost in the database
I've been experimenting with screensaver software so most of my work is geared for web style display.
My wife is wanting to work on a calendar so converting to print resolutions may take a bit of time since I will need to do multiple print tests before I would feel comfortable selling anything but the highest quality.
If I do make a print-- it would either be print only or matted
Learned that framed images don't travel well when I was doing some stuff for Mel--I'm not crazy about plexiglass for viewing and glass can break no matter how well it is packed-- so any framing would probably be better to be done locally or ordered from places like framedestination.com or Dick Blick etc
After the quality tests, we can talk $$'s

Don't know how interesting it is to this bunch of stone cold natural born duck assassins but Molly and I have started a 'nature' photography business.
Since we both will be taking images and hopefully selling same, Bill Coatney Photography doesn't fit anymore. Forir is her maiden name and we both thought it sounded better.
Molly is becoming a very good photographer and more and more of her work will be featured on our web site www.forirphotos.com. Right now the majority of stuff is my archived images but as soon as we figure a few things out in running Wordpress, we will revamp it and her images will be featured.
Run over and visit if ya want-- check out the About Page for a short version of how the name came up and a picture of the two us at a conservation area after a morning photographing (same day I took the pintail image)-- we have even have a blog that has maybe 6 subscribers
That is also the name we have been using in Mid American Waterfowler when we run an ad. Right now we are looking at self publishing a CD of screensavers or a maybe an E Book. Like I said, she wants to do a calendar project similar to the MDC and all the other knotheads that have more images than money and sense
Plus, I'm thinking about retiring while my knees still work and this should help keep me busy--For some reason she is also thinking about going to art fairs etc and trying to sell even though as my wingman put it
Most people have pictures of themselves, their kids and maybe their dogs but you and Molly have pictures of ducks, geese and trumpeter swans-- y'all ain't right

If you're 'thinking about retiring', you might find that you will be busier than when you were working, it seems that I am. I'm glad that you could take the time to make this decision. Many folks, just either got forced into retirement, or retire for health reasons, and don't get this chance! All roads lead to where we are...choose your next step wisely.
It sounds like a great plan for both of you. Good luck!

Bill -
Thanks for the explanation and link. Good to see you and Ms. Molly enjoying life together.
I would imagine that if me and my lovely wife spent more time together it could easily make our relationship that much more... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . DIVORCABLE
Also - I have not forgot about our deal....have just been waiting on something to come to reality which should be within the week and then it will happen

To all
Thanks for all the good wishes-- it is appreciated.
Busy??
Susie, I have another business on the side that if it continues to work like it has in its first month, I hope it will provide the $$'s to allow Molly to cut back on her regular job. Since she is younger-- I get to retire from the day job but she has a ways to go before she gets to the "golden age". I guess Social Security, my pension and the side jobs will help keep us from Alpo Specials for lunch
Dabs.... I am not always the easiest person to be with when the birds are flying and Molly is not photographing to "standard" -- there have been a few "terse moments"
As far as the deal.... no problem. I know you will treat this ol chigger right

Also.....I have not forgotten about our "deal".

Good to hear you're flush.
Listen, I'm headed to Vegas in a few days to meet up with some life-long friends from up home. Golf a little bit out there. Maybe you can spot me a small bank roll. I'll gladly pay you Tuesday.....
My husband is older than me. He still works.
I'm spending some of my time organising a golf tournament, tours, shows and the like for the old folks in the trailer park down here, but for the most part, I could live in the golf course, pool, gym, home improvement and consignment shops.
I've very nearly completed this place. Just put the finishing touches on the kitchen this week, and it may be time to move up. Or maybe I will look at some real estate near Vegas next week, and change deserts....
