Story I heard that Webb scored often in the first quarter and were kicking extra points over the fence which led to the hood. Webb was running out of footballs and none of them were coming back. Coach for WC has a conference with officials and the opposing coach and the opposing coach said he wasnt sending anyone to go down there and bring the footballs back. Soooooo, webb after that would score and get some motion penalties so the kicker wouldnt kick it over the fence....Problem averted...

Sounds like a tall tale told at the Webb City Barber Shop. St. Mary's isn't in the elite part of town but it isn't the hood either. I've been to dozens of football and soccer games there. Never seen a ball go missing. As a rule there are a half dozen kids scratching, clawing and elbowing to see which one can catch the extra points and field goals. They're usually the younger brothers of the players or the up-and-coming, grade-schoolers.
I did see Webb City marched all over St. Mary's. You can thank the idiotic MSHSAA "multiplier" for that win. St. Mary's has an all boys enrollment of 346. If you double that for the single gender, you get 692. But thanks to the MSHSAA multiplier, you have to multiply that by 1.35 and their enrollment becomes 935. Webb City's enrollment is a little under 1,200. Congratualtions 5th grade, you just beat the 4th graders...

Webb City is very good team and should not have been playing St. Mary's. That was a waste of gas and everyone's time. It was like the 5th grade playing the 4th grade. That's not a knock on Webb City, in any way. MSHSAA has forked this up so bad we get idiotic games like this. All they have to do is seed, just like baseball. Seed the teams and let the best teams end up playing the best teams at that stage (barring upsets).
Sorry if that's a little to hard for you to understand...

Well if they played like a 4th grade team when playing Webb City then cont your blessings. Most look like a kindergarten class playing a prep college school.
Just ask Helias last weekend.

Lee.....are your boys still into baseball as much as they were the last time I saw them.....what.....7 or 8 years ago? At least one of them has to be in high school by now, right? What do they do? Just curious, they looked like good athletes back then.

Can't argue that. Webb city is da chit!! What is that 44 or 45 games in a row? That's a culture of winning.
I watched some of the Francis Howell vs Blue Springs game and that was a boys/men match-up as well. Overall, the west side has far better football. That Blue Springs team looks like it could beat some DIII teams...

Griff, yea Lake the oldest will be a senior next year and Lane will be a Junior. Lake is the sports kids. He has decided to not play baseball this year which bummed me out a little, but hey it's his choice. He is instead going to go run track to try and get a little faster for Football. His passion is football, was named all conference honorable mention this year for his Junior season at a new position. So he was very happy about that. He is also big into High School power lifting. He is at this moment a two time American Record holder in the power press division as a freshman and soph. As for Lane he never had the heart or attitude of his brother. He is On the Varsity HS Trap team and loves every second of that. Trap coach is a teacher. Requires them to have a 3.0 gpa to shoot and I am damn fine with that. Besides that he is my fishing and hunting partner who would rather hunt or fish than run laps or be tackled.......
I see your little be is growing up quick too and making a dang good name for hisself. Congrats on that. Sure makes ya proud watching them set goals and big dreams and watching them come true. Nothing better. Lee

That's excellent dude.....glad to hear it!! It's cool that they are as different as they are and still each successful in their own right. You are rightfully proud!
I just want to enjoy the next few years with my kids....they won't be around much longer....it's crazy how fast it goes.
What school do your kids go to?
