Sad day for the USA
      #249399 - 07/22/15 05:35 PM

TJ Van Garderen was forced to abandon the Tour de France today with an unspecified illness/injury. He had been in third place in the GC race. TJ, a former 2 time 5th place finisher, was the United State's best hope for a podium finish in the greatest sporting event in the world.

Said Tj, when approached by French television for an explanation of what happened, "fork off".

I read somewhere that his bell came loose from his handlebars and fell into his spokes, bending them to a point of destruction. Seems all of the blood doping hadn't prepared him for this unforeseen event.

Whatever the cause it was a great loss for his team. From what I've seen he was one hell of a rider. Also, I'd bet that totaled up for one continuous event the Tour de France totals over one million watchers on the roads.

Hell I couldn't even pedal a bike out of my driveway without collapsing.
