Never thought I would. In fact, was worried I'd end up owning one some day, maybe it was a jinx.
Since my shorthair passed, my lab has been our only dog, and the lab grew up with the SHP always around. So the wife wanted a second dog for the lab to have company.
Long story short, sort of a rescue dog, kids named her Daisy, she is here now. Sweet little girl, I think she's full blooded. Looks like someone took her rabies tag from 2011 and bent it back and forth to take off the bottom where any tracking #s were. She seems about a year old, house broke, no issues so far, maybe someone lost their house or had to move and dumped her. So now I own a beagle.

Congrats on the new family member.
Always wanted a second dog for my lab but decided against it for the time being.
Daisy sounds like a good dog for your family, enjoy.

The first night here, she was scared, didn't know what we were gettin. A couple days into it, she sits well, is house broken, good with the kids, and the lab is putting up with her (no food fights for now anyways). She hasn't really let out a good bay yet, we shall see when I get her out back where the rabbits run around....
