Found my first mushrooms of the year this afternoon. Two days earlier than my previous record. Only 8 small blacks but with the warmer temps and rain predicted for the weekend it should be "game on"!

I was looking at posts from a year ago.....and by this time I had found 100 greys and some yellows. So far this year that spot has produced nada.....BUT.....one rain and my guess is it all changes.

Ol man went out today and found 46 blacks in southern illinoizz. By the end of next week and the week after it will be on. Rain coming and 90 degree temps is gonna get things good

Man I was jonesin to go today but was busy smoking ribs for a family gig. We had some rain on Thur and again on Fri night over here and it made the upper 80's today. I did take some time to get my mountain bike out and get it ready and I'll definitely be hitting one of my bike it spots tomorrow.

Yep ground temp is the key. You can find your reds, blacks and greys now but it will be next week fore the kings will be out in the sand and a week after in the woods. Make book on it.

Just got back from one of my bike in spots. This one is in the woods and usually produces later, but it's also one of my closest spots. Rode a short mile out to the spot and found this small grey within 30 seconds of getting off my bike. Scoured the usual spots in the patch for an hour but didn't find any more. Another week or so and that spot should really heat up. If I get time later this week I'll check out one of my sandy river bottom spots.

i hiked all over and came up empty at the farm. I have a note on my calendar that April 10 was the day we found a huge batch last year. Was kind of surprised, figured they'd be all over this past weekend.
Luckily the asparagus are flying up right now and crappie are biting, we didn't go hungry.
I need one of those morel mojos.

I know..........he has killed several people, and karma hates killers. Plus, he whopped our ass as kids. Of course, people who have kids know that sometimes it has to be done

50 greys last night & 30 today all found by the wife. I told her she was wasting her time this early. She comes home with a bag full & says "look here dumbazz". I aint never right.
