I don't get the attitude of "We have rules but we're going to ignore it for THIS guy or for that guy." Why bother having rules then? On top of breaking one of THE rules of baseball DON'T BET ON BASEBALL! (one of the rules that you are repeatedly told about from the time you're drafted and reiterated every spring training) he has lied about it repeatedly. He has only admitted to betting on baseball when he was a manager due to overwhelming evidence but swore that he never bet when he was a player. Well now he's caught in another lie by newly discovered evidence. I don't care how many hits he had or that he played the game hard - he knew rules, he broke the rules, he lied about it and got caught. Keep him out in my opinion.
What is also funny is that some of the very people saying Rose should be forgiven and admitted are adamantly against other cheaters like Bonds, McGwire and Clemens. Pretty soon they're will be a campaign to let them in. Once again, why bother having rules?

He has certainly acted like one.. Too bad for him that he doesn't get to play the "card". Because the type of person he is, he'd sure play it.

I've changed my tune on this. I say he should not only be reinstated and let back into baseball and the HOF, he should be given his own day, his number retired across the league and every stadium should have a shrine to him. If you ever saw him play, you would have to agree...

Was in Cincy yesterday for a project. The locals still love them some Pete... For the life of them, they just can't see that he did anything wrong... 
I told them he should be banned for the hair coloring and white, snakeskin boots alone....
