So......it turns out I get word that the Cup is coming to a place that I can probably crash. As much as I wanted to see it and spend a minute checking it out, I figure LS deserved it more if I could pull it off. I reached out to him, like we all have done here for 20 years, to see if he'd had a chance to get next to it yet and he hadn't.

This morning we end up in a house we have no business being in, and there we are.

It was a helluva season and some epic Cafe banter between us for the right to say "I told you so". I got beat pretty good on that one, so it was nice to pay him back a bit. It's one hell of a trophy.....bent, dented, and worn...and the best prize in all of sports!!

It's a damn shame we both had to work because it was a nice spread and we could have stayed and made sure we were never "invited" back.

Good to see you, Mike.....great morning!

Thank you, Wu, for all you do around here.

Last, Congratulations for persevering.

griffin, it was a nice gesture.

I'm glad it belongs in St. Louis this year. Cheers.

It looks like LS had to take a break from umpiring a T ball game to make his appearance

Glad you both got to put your hands on the Cup. This place doesn’t disappoint once again

Have you ever been on a mission where you show up, stfu, do as your told....and then watch as everything goes beautifully and just as it was planned? That was yesterday morning for me. bwaaaaaaaaaaaa

The Cup is awesome. The best in sports. Touched by all the greats. Within a few weeks time, the Cup will leave this area and I was beginning to wonder when who... of all people.... reaches out to me. For the really good ones, the Cup can move mountains.

I owe you big time Scott and hope to get the chance to pay you back. It's a morning I will never forget for many reasons. And you're right, a tip 'o the hat to Wu....we all keep coming back to right here and for me this was the biggest come back of all.

Honest to God.....if I would have known ahead of time that the food and drink spread at that place was gonna be like it was, and players would filter in and out all morning, we'd have taken the day off and just stayed.....hell, we were in.

I swear, at the end of the day, we would have been these two....

Man, the only hiccup was when they asked for our names from that list they had. When they didn't even bat an eye when we told them we weren't on the list.....I knew we were good....but the badge and gun will do that. I counted on that in the planning.

I was still good with just getting next to the cup.....and I was still good as we made our way out, passing the food. But, when we got to the shrimp tray and the champagne memosas, you'll never know how close I came to calling an audible.

The fact you had a $20 dollar bill taped to your hat probably didn’t hurt either

Well damn, in my mind LS was some St Louis hipster. After seeing this picture I'm gonna have to reevaluate a lot of things...

I pictured LS to be a bit older and bitter looking..........but he still looks like he could yell at some kids to get off his lawn.
