One of the local news channels had a segment on last night that was picked up from somewhere else...not sure where....was about a panhandler who was honest.
His sign said something to the effect, "I am homeless and drink lots of beer - please help."
According the the self proclaimed hops enthusiast - he drinks 40 to 48 beers a day.......according to him "about the equal to 2 beers per hour".
The interviewer said - "yeah, but you are not awake 24 hours a day." He replied - "you have to make up for those sleeping hours when you are awake"...or something to that effect.
48 beers per day - that is a man running a marathon.

I call bullchit.
You gain .02% blood alcohol per beer. 48 beers = a b.a. of .96%.
But you burn off .02% per hour, so you can drink a beer an hour and never get drunk. If the guy was up for 20 hours in a day, he'd burn off 40 points and still have a blood alcohol of .56%.
Nope. At less than .40% folks go into an alcoholic coma, and at about .50% they die.
Oh, I have 3 beers at bedtime and usually none during the day. Some of the ones I like have more than the usual amount of alcohol, though.

Could be a big difference as some days/weeks/months/years I tend to drink more than average. Also, at what time do you consider "night" as starting? because on some days I tend to start fairly early. If I don't have to count those early beers, my numbers could decrease drastically.
