Sprint's CEO
      #247602 - 01/02/15 08:27 PM

New Sprint CEO involved in soccer: You may have heard that NASCAR lost its title sponsor the other day, that telecommunications giant Sprint is pulling out of the draft after the 2016 season. What you may not have heard is one of the reasons why: Soccer. Sprint has a new CEO, and while he's from south of the Mason-Dixon line, it's real far south, farther south than Kannapolis, N.C., or even Hueytown in Alabama. Marcelo Claure is from Bolivia. When he became CEO of Sprint in August, it was agreed by a board of directors and stockholders and such that Claure should eliminate 3,700 jobs and $1.5 billion from departmental budgets. Sprint's initial agreement with NASCAR was $750 million for 10 years, so that must have seemed like a good place to start, especially if you're a soccer guy and not a car guy. Claure owns a soccer team in Bolivia and is trying to bring Major League Soccer to Miami. His partner is global soccer icon David Beckham. Ain't that a corner kick to the head? "You certainly don't want to lose a sponsor like that," Las Vegas Motor Speedway president Chris Powell said, "but I don't think this is a comment on the business of NASCAR. I think it's more a comment on Sprint's business. That's what I'm seeing from a distance."(Las Vegas Review Journal)(12-27-2014)

I hear the new sponsor is lined up but they can't make it official until after the all-star race next year because of contractual obligations.

It is a good fit being last year most teams spent more time b itching and complaining versus rather than racing.

Starting in 2016 it will be the Kotex Cup.

Yes, it is fitting, for the following reasons:

Stewart isn't going to jail.

Stewart will have to settle any civil suit before it goes to trial because some stupid cross-eyed kid, ran out in front of his car when the kid was stoned. You watch the same damn fuzzy, dark video 100 times in one day on TV, and you'll almost start to believe the media is right. Screw ESPN.

I DO hope that anyone who was truly interested, watched Gordon cut down on Kezelowski at Michigan, BEFORE that fight began. Anyone of you would have an entirely different and CLEAR point of view if you watched from a scoring tower, starter's stand or rooftop. That's why it's the best place to watch a race.

And, I do hope that everyone saw Logano's wedding photographs. Perhaps it will convince some in here, finally, that he's not gay.

I suppose, it is this same mentality that thinks NASCAR's sponsorship woes and cars can be fixed with ductape.

MEN in coveralls built it. MEN is suits ruined it.

Because we all know gay men never marry women, right?

The rest of your gibberish I can't make heads or tails of. Who knew Jeff Gordon got in a fight over Tony Stewart's tampon?

The only way I'm climbing up on top of a roof or tower to get a clearer view of a car race is if I get to shoot at the cars with a rifle.

The only way I am going to a soccer game is if Posh Spice and Bubba dance with cleats on David Beckham's grave.

We don't know if she likes older gentlemen, Bubba, but we are going to have Kurt Busch's girlfriend take Beckham out just as soon as she is able.

Busch testified in court today that "she is a trained assassin" that "she has popped some drug lords" and is "badass".

Shine your shoes!
