I put a young man in for Weldon and he was drawn. I took him scouting last weekend and we have a few birds located and ready to shoot. It will be a little brisk in the morning, but we have a pretty good hike into our spot. That should keep us warm. Should we not bag one in the morning, Sunday looks to be a much more turkey-like morning.
Any of you hands taking a yute? This lad is 15 and it will be his last yute hunt.

Hoping to take my youngest Sunday. He'll be 16 in a couple weeks. Can't go Saturday as he's running track in "HomeofToto". Won't be home till midnight and that'll make for a bad morning for him..
He'll need more than a snickers bar to keep from acting like betty white..
Heard three toms yesterday morning where we hunt.
Good luck

No bird in the bag, but we had fun!
We had three gobblers within shooting distance, but we hunt timber and never saw any of them, as it's pretty thick. I'm no expert in calling birds, so I need to review close quarters calling. I'm a "less is more" guy, so I may need to be a lil more aggressive? Anyway, the son loved all of the noise and will be ready to go for regular season.

I got out first 2 days and last 2 days.
Had no time to scout or know wtf the birds I was chasing were doing and it was painfully evident.
First 2 days they were severely henned up.
Last 2 days the Toms were dead quiet so I can't even tell you if I effed up or it was just over before it was over.
