The Carving was done by Rick McAtee of Miller's Ditch Decoys

He was the originator of the The Mallard Club and I did his web site waaaaay back when

This decoy is out of my collection and I thought it would look good light painted

Light painting, huh?

I remember when it was called, "dude, hold this flashlight on that decoy".

Looks cool!

Finding sober flashlight holders that work cheap are hard to come by these days, so we had to come up with an artsy fartsy name for this-- so wives and other cynics would not think we were crazy waving flashlights around in the basement when it wasn't duck season.......

come to think of it.....

Yeah, it would be crazy even if it was duck season but lets keep that on the down low ok?

cool photo for sure. Uncle Ricko does a great bird. I like the Don Dennis call in the photo also. I need to work on stuff like that, the girls would enjoy being light holders

Go to the head of the class on recognizing the Don Dennis

Auxiliary light holders will keep you from bumping the tripod in the dark trying to change light angles-- voice of experience

Yep-- Uncle Rick does an excellent job and he is a character

Even my wife likes him which is highly unusual since she only tolerates some people and ignores/loathes the rest of mankind--

Her motto is "I like birds--hate people"
