Got a New Pup
      #230969 - 08/04/12 04:30 PM

Yellow this time ----if you ask what breed your dummier then most--

Sadie is nearly 30lbs at 13 weeks --she going to be a biggin . I Imagine over 100 lbs at full adult growth ? Allready shows interest in birds and actually pointed one in the yard a few weeks back. Not that its that big of deal ------well only to the "Pointing Lab " enthuist. -- Getting house broke is the biggest deal to get over and she's doing much better all the time !-- ..TG...

Well just thought someone oughta post something current that had to do with dog training ---that is all---carry on.

Where is Robert Milner when you need him?

At least the two new guys have each other to hold hands

Yeah, now all we need is for them to skip off into the sunset and off a cliff. This place is worse than ever with these two pinheads......geez.

Owning this dump is kind of like a marriage with a much shorter Bell Curve on the honeymoon

She only retrieves 13 week old birds. Pretty specialized.

Yard birds ---she saw them , stood there with tail out and one paw up . I'd say that's taking an interest , not that she'd actually would retrive one if I shot one .I'm not going to shoot any birds over her for a few more months . I hav'nt even got her gun broke yet and never rush my dogs too quickly on that . I gun shy dog is worthless to me and too hard to fix. Also I got some fresh bird wings and having her chase them . About 90% house broken now ,knows commands, sit, stay, here and heal. Teaching her to follow whistle commands soon, next retreiving bumpers, then bumpers with duck scent and wings attached. I try to introduce my pups early and slowly and often I never have use a training coller but I do use force fetch and training stick eventually . Last couple of years using the Chris Atkins method and seems to work just fine !
