Not yet. I have seen a few here in the past, but not really common.

good pics kurt!

i just had a summer tanager, goldfinch and bluebird sitting in the same tree within a few feet of each other. Almost American flag-like.
i couldn't get close enough for a decent picture with the phone.

Re: 2023 post your asst bird pics

Thanks. I'm not seeing too much variety here.

Mourning Dove.
Cow Bird.
Tufted Titmouse.
Nuthatch.
Wren.
Bluejay.
Crow (bonus this year; fairly rare around here).
A couple different small woodpeckers. The Pileated are very rare here.
Redtail Hawk.
Turkey Vulture.
Several Bald eagles the last month.

Those are pretty good Kurt
A little cropping to tighten the POV and composition……

Re: 2023 post your asst bird pics

Thanks, Bill. I appreciate that from you. Those are cropped pretty far down from the original, because my lens isn't good enough to zoom in any more. (Nikon DX 55-200mm). I tried cropping these deeper, but it got fuzzy. Some day, I need to get a better lens, at least 400mm.

I'm also taking these pics through glass (my storm door), so that takes a bit away.

Re: 2023 post your asst bird pics

Regarding composition, that's something that I always think that I could do better. I try to leave the most space in the direction the animal is looking or traveling, and the overall size/shape of the pic to fit my 23" monitor.

Here's an example, and I'd appreciate your opinion.

Here's an original pic of a Hummingbird, not zoomed in.
(Links, because they're 4,000 pixels)

This is zoomed in all the way;
https://i.postimg.cc/TwsnRngh/2023-6-16-Hummingbird-2.jpg

Here's how I cropped it;

Will you show me how you would have done it, and maybe with a quick explanation?

Re: 2023 post your asst bird pics

Hey Kurt

Missed your question but better late than never……..I hope

Look up rule of thirds composition and golden ratio

Cropping is designed to show off what you think is important but may not have had the lens

Also if you were shooting something that you were going to add text you crop different

I have some projects that I have work on (wood working) and I will try to get back to this

Is that the feeding stump?

Nice rule of thirds

Re: 2023 post your asst bird pics

I don't put any feed out; those stumps are just lining my little drive since I had a couple trees removed.

I've been trying to get better taking/editing pics,, so I appreciate hearing that I've improved. I'm still messing with settings, for the focus issues that I had asked you about, but so far I haven't made any improvements.
