I looked up the Rufous hummingbird and I see them every summer in the Colorado Rockies. Our family has a place on the west side of Pikes Peak about 9800' in elevation.
I've taken pics of the male, but they're never clear. I always wondered what kind those big orange suckers were.
They're quite a bit bigger than the ruby throated ones here.
