The Cardinals were expecting a lot of average and a sprinkling of power when they drafted Ramsey in the first round out of Florida State in 2012. But after tearing up High-A for three weeks, Ramsey pulled a one-eighty at Springfield in 2013. He clubbed 15 home runs, but hit just .251.

This year Ramsey combined the two. He started the season on an power surge, and although mid-season nicks and knacks (shoulder sprain, strained oblique) dulled his summer power, 13 home runs still compliment a .301 average.

A hard-nosed defender (shoulder sprain came from a collision with an outfield wall) with above-average speed, this season has seen Ramsey develop into a complete package.
