Wouldn't want to be going down the Missouri in kayak at night. I guess the noise of the tug pushing double wide barges and the big search lights wasn't a clue that there was something coming up the river. They should have had more info before 75 people set out in kayaks from Kansas City to St. Louis and try to make it in 100 hours. Tugs have the right of way. They are lucky they could out from under the barge and didn't drown.

Man a barge at 2 am light up the river with their 100 million candlewatt spotlights from a long damn way. Those two California, too stupid to get out of the way.....well you can't fix stupid.

It's kinda like Larry The Cable Guy talking about people getting hit by trains, and the two tracks should give ya an idea something may be goin' on in this area.
Same with big lights and loud engines; somethin' may be a-happenin' up that way.

Well it makes sense now. Old dude had his Cialis kick in at the wrong time and he couldn't paddle around his enormous grandpa erection...

Not familiar with that stretch of the riva...dunno if the bend was sharp or not...but I agree it would be hard not to recognize the apporach of a friggin' tug/barge.

No barges out here in Kali-fornya, closest we got is them big destroyers that come out of San Diego bay that throw a hilacious wake. Lots of pilgrims play chicken with them.

We were bowfishing one fine day this spring when some squareheads in canoes and kayaks decided they were gonna cross real close into our field of fire. It was bad timing as we had just found a big pod of carp and the slaughter was on.

One goof got about 20 yards off the pontoon bow when Westy harpooned a big fatty. I'm not sure if it was the arrow flight heading toward the canoe or the carp thrashing up a bloody froth but the lead canoe did a hasty course correction.

Blunts were invented to cure these type of folks.
