Re: This place is dead

Thinking about a small arms weapon. Guess I need to go to a store/range and shoot a few different platforms. Big enough but easy to handle. Is there a favored gun? Maybe a 9mm Ruger? Any advice???

Thanks

Re: This place is dead

Depends....
you using it for CCW or nightstand use?
Semi auto or revolver

Good idea about going and shooting different platforms

Glock 19 is a good starting point-- there a quite a few floating around on the used market--looks like a 'tractor' compared to Colt or S&W but reliable and minimal care needed to keep it running

Looking at getting the Mrs a .357 revolver and let her practice with .38 special--
and work up to +P loads and then to .357
pretty much point and shoot with no jams or failure to eject like a semi auto

Re: This place is dead

I guess if you can shoot 'golf'
Mac can shoot a 'platform'

As for depends.......you can go get yourself fitted for them you old coot,Peppermint would probably figure that as an improvement over you going 'commando'

Re: This place is dead

I'm thinking there are going to be some deals on po po trade in .40 call pistols pretty soon. with the flight switching to 9mm, I bet a lot of local pd departments follow. Glock and S&W will be the majority of them. $300 would be about as much as I would go. they may be scarred up from carrying them in the holster and bumping into the metal doors at dunkin donuts, but the internals will be good. I'll post up any deals I see

I've been looking for Ruger gp100 and Smith 686s in 4 inch barrels. damn things are priced out of my range for what it would be, a toy. Rural King has a Rock Island M200 in .38 Spcl for $230 this weekend. if I had the cash, I'd get it.

Normally I'd tell you to stay away from Taurus because of poor quality, but I hear they don't screw up the revolvers that much

.38 with extras
