Hey folks, Watch this video that validates just how clever these particular birds are. If you have ever read Ed Zern's mirthful story, " A mixed bag of Zern," you know how hard he says it is to out-smart crow. http://www.msn.com/en-us/video/wonder/th...ocid=spartanntp I've been around all of these birds including jackdaws and ravens. They be some clever bastages all. |

LOL!! I know some of you joes like to hunt crow. They can be fooled by calls and such but I've never done it. If I can't eat it, I just don't shoot it. Although there have been a few times where I figuratively ate much crow! |

Mac, if you haven't seen this one, take a gander (pun intended for the bird forum - bird nerds ) Smart bird completes tasks for food... Or how about the drongo birds in Africa. I watched Nat Geo episode where this bird was featured and they showed them in action. This link is to the article that explains what they do but the episode is worth hunting down and watching. Drongo Bird And if course there is Road Runner ... beep, beep!! |

Thanks for the links. I knew about the drongos unique feigning abilities, but I hadn't seen the 8-step learning challenge with the crow. I am blown away how clever these critters are! BTW, next time you see a crow watching you...the bastage has yer number! |
