Non-soil temperature experts "finding" mushrooms. . . . . . . . .........

SEMO is starting to look "right" for mushroom hunting but the so called amature soil people who say the mushrooms are up are a bit off on their findings. Walked in the woods today to spots that for the past 50 years black morels have been found. Not a single shroom was found. As the ol man said when we left the house, I bet we don't find chit but we went to satisfy me and he said he would tell me why after we left the woods.

Sees asparagus plants start to emerge when soil temps hit 50 degrees. His plants are not busting the ground yet. That is his "predicter" as to when to go look for shrooms.

I'm not sayin he is a mushroom expert,or a person who knows anyrhing about soil or plants.................. but he does have a fancy four year degree in plant stuff and another 2 year masters degree in soil stuff. He says by .on or tues it will be time to hunt shrooms

Reds and false morels or dog peckers as we call em don't count as shrooms either

Just sayin

Found 4 tiny whites at my early spot in STL this morning. None bigger than the tip of my index finger...Next week should be good. Cheers.
