Instant Pot

No, not a quick sack from the shady dude on the corner.

I got an Instant Pot for Christmas, and it lives up to the hype. It cooks dried bean and rice dishes in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods. It sautes, roasts and apparently makes cheesecakes and even yogurt. It's a normal slow cooker as well.

I don't see myself making my own yogurt, but last night I made barracho beans in less than 90 minutes. Pinto beans right out of the bag.

So far, I'm suitably impressed.

I'll report back when I've scraped their remnants off of my lily white azz.

Nothin' worse than a little bean aftermath.

Re: Instant Pot

DMR you are killing me, its a pressure cooker, I googled it, been around since 1679. Welcome to the club? One year I canned a whole deer, some of it with bacon. Grandma knew, now you do too....

Re: Instant Pot

Yeah, I get that, J.

I have an old pressure cooker too, and some years it sees its fill of mason jars. But it doesn't shift gears like this electric one.

It's smaller, faster, and far more versatile.

Re: Instant Pot

Re: Instant Pot

I know this is an old thread but wanted to chime in. We got a Ninja Foodie for Xmas and it does everything the instapot does plus it's an air fryer. So far it's lived up to the press about it. And yes, it's also a pressure cooker.
