British at the "old course".......

.......tee's off in the early am.

Weather will be a major issue, calling for rain and 40 mph winds for Friday.

Spieth going for the 3rd leg. Would never count him out. Pretty hard to pick a winner with so much parity and talent on a given weekend but even though he choked big time at the US Open Dustin Johnson has to be considered to be there on Sunday. The guy has a significant advantage off the tee and on this course that is huge. Can he putt well enough and put the Open behind him?

Here's to hoping a Yank can get a win over there.

Re: British at the "old course".......

Tiger regains his form and ends up in a three-way playoff with Rory and Speith. After all is said and done, Rory falls short and they declare the first tie in Open history, between Tiger and Speith.

Make sure you're watching, this will be fun...

Tiger won't compete. I wouldn't bet against Spieth - that kid has something special going on. I'd like to see DJ win it but he hasn't been able to close it out yet..

I just looked at the first round results. Tiger has 'em right where he wants 'em...

Yep - A mere 11 shots off the pace and tied with a 65 YO in Tom Watson. Lets start a pool on what body part injury will be used as an excuse by Tiger for this tourney...

Been watching since 5 with an hour and a half gym break. I hope Spieth does it but Johnson put on a show . Lots of close scores , even in the pm wave so far , but the weather will dictate the winner in the end.

Go Braves!

The Braves probably have about the same chance of winning their division as Mark Calcavecchia does of winning the Open Championship.. back atcha

That would turn a few snobs in the game on their head. He is one piece of work.

If Johnson keeps driving like he is...turn out the lights. But , as predicted , the weather will determine the winner..

Or Monday...

That was some bad decision making by the rules boys. It likely cost DJ at least one or two strokes. It's one thing when everyone has to play the same course and conditions. It's another when you have some players that have a distinct advantage...

Re: British at the "old course".......

Whelp good luck predicting a winner. There's about 40 guys with a shot at the jug.

Story lines are every where. Gotta say the Irish kid who's still an amateur has been nails.

Gonna miss the final round, too bad I think this one goes to a playoff.

Re: British at the "old course".......

Watching it on the 'puter as I try to work. Got a ton of work to do before heading to the airport this evening and this ain't helping...

I'm putting all of my chips on the Spieth line. I think he wins by 2-3 strokes and there is a huge logjam at 2nd, 3rd and 4th...

How cool would it be to see Spieth and Dunne (a) in a playoff?

Re: British at the "old course".......

Didn't catch the golfer but ESPN was 'eavesdropping' on a conversation between the golfer and caddie--caddie told the golfer that if he hit it with the club in his hand he couldn't go wrong

The guy hits it-- is about a club short and ended up in one of those deeeeeeeeep sandboxes that probably have been cursed more than Kyle Busch this last weekend

ESPN commentator (must have been Faldo?) said ..... I guess he could go wrong after all

Trust me when I tell you that if there is a club in your hand, something can go wrong, no matter who you are... For some it is more than others...
