Smoked shrooms

Put a bunch of whole shrooms into the water pan on the smoker with large onion slices, beer, apple juice water and a shot or two of vinegar and some garlic cloves. Got done with the pork loin, threw it away and ate the shrooms. Dam fine eats.

Kim, talk to the fluteman, he has all the shrooms. I'm tellin ya its some damn fine eats. I put all kinds of flavor in the water pan and the shrooms pick up the smoky flavor real good. I put three pounds of whole buttons in there last time.

Sounds pretty tasty,,,I gots to give that a try,,,more and more I gravitate towards veggies and just a small portion of meat don't know why,,,but that sounds good
I shouldn't have to throw away a whole loin,,,,momma still likes leftovers
Sounds like whole portabellas would work too,,,thanks for the idea.

Never tried the portobellas but that prolly would be good. I did some St. Louis ribs yesteday but smoked them on the weber so no shrooms. I bet taters and carrots would be good in there too. Also, the reason you are eating less meat these days is a function of age. You is getting up there brother and that is experience talking.
