Any luck?

I only got to go a few hours yesterday morn and will likely not make it back out until Friday or the weekend. Too busy at work and a few home repair projects that can't be put off. Didn't even get to look for 'shromms. Heard a few gobbling and only had a few responses from henned-up toms. Had I been able to stay, I'm sure one or two of them would have worked later in the morn, after losing their hens.

Anyone get out? Anyone have any luck? I dis hear a few more shots than usual for the area I was hunting. Considering the weather conditions were nearly prefect, that didn't surprise me.

Re: Any luck?

I shot mine while he was standing on top of my DSD jack decoy.

Re: Any luck?

Got out behind the house today for a few hours. Had a 2 year-old (6"-8" beard - so assuming a 2 year-old anyway). Come to the edge of the field I was hunting about 100 yards away. He strutted gobbled and wouldn't budge. Eventually, he went into the woods and hung out for about 45 mins, gobbling every so often. Have to assume he had been hunted or was pretty smart for a 2 year-old. They usually come right to the call. "Bout like all of us when we were teenagers. A wink and a smile is all it took...

Next time I'll take the decoy down with me. Probably would have made a difference today. I got lazy because I've killed more than a few back there without them.

Good luck to anyone going this weekend!! And BE CAREFUL!!!!
