American Hog Peanut

A turkey habitat question. Have you all any experience with Amphicarpaea bracteata, aka the American Hog Peanut?

I've read where turkey eat both the peas like seeds as well as the peanut just under the soil. Have you observed any turkey eating these fruits?

I ran across an entire wooded meadow of them the other day. Barton Co....

I have not seen turkeys eat peanuts but friends in the Durant OK area say they occasionally have to run Rios out of the peanut fields

I know they field hunt waterfowl in harvested peanut fields

Since turkeys basically eat just about everything…..I figure they would eat peanuts

Know any turkey farmers?

They could tell you for sure
