The refs ruined the game from the puck drop. Really bad work and not evenly bad either.
On top of that, the Blues were just not on any kind of mission to win. They were a bit flat, not connected and missed on some key plays that could have helped them.
Now get back home, get a win.......and on to game 7.

Good luck to the boys on the road tonight...playing best record team in the NHL for elimination.
They are all going have to be on it but JB even more so.
Go BLUE!

That was one hell of a first period for the Blues. Dominating.

And a dominating second period for the Blues.
And a respectable third period for the Blues…..until the 1:52 mark, then the wheels fell off the bus.

I see a great future.
Two things:
1.At 65 years old, I could knock Kyrou off a puck. He's going to be a perennial issue in big hitting games....aka the playoffs.
2. I don't need to see Thomas pass the puck any more.
Other than that....I'm shopping for a 2026 ticket package.

While with you on next year Griff......
Been almost 24 hours and I remain numb.
Of course I STILL remember the Yzerman goal 30 years ago.
Damn.

I don't know strategy or formations, so I don't know if someone is slacking or not. I can't comment on that stuff, but..
Winnipeg at the end of the game (regulation) summed up my thoughts on hockey.. throw the puck at the net. Quantity over quality.. something might sneak thru
You can't catch a fish if you don't throw your lure into the water..
I didn't think the blues shot the puck enough near the end.
Great season otherwise!

It's a great analysis Haus on 2 fronts so you do know hockey.
First, That's exactly how the Jets scored their goal #2. A junk shot that went off 2 players to go in.
And secondly, the Blues only had like 5 shots in the third. WTF.
But their 6/5 nemesis came back to haunt them on top of all of that. Ranked last in league defending 6/5.
I'm just totally bummed.....gonna need some time before I start watching the rest of the play offs.

what do you do when you're shorthanded like that?
put a dude on their best shooter like velcro, or stay back around the net to keep them from passing it inside?
crap moves so fast and lines constantly changing... it's controlled chaos.. how do you manage that?
that is what makes it probably the best sport ever invented.

Pretty much box out and body block the outside shots and jump the puck first time its freed up.
But you also have to battle to keep your goalies net front crease clear of bodies and his vision open.....a tough assignment.
I turned the tv off immediately after and have yet to see a replay of the last shot but I do know it was Conner, their best shot guy who had an amazing series.

Coming back on this....on 6/5 you really do need to put more pressure on the outside than you do 5/4....my prior answer was really more geared to 5/4 and that's not what happened in game 7.

Well first off just so Vegas doesn't win. I hate that team and that franchise.
If Chief wins another Cup that's 2 franchises for him to strike gold after 65 years of drought. And Toronto is the biggest fish of them all....he might get in the HOF if he does it.
For right now:
In the West I'm pulling for Dallas and EDM
In the East Toronto and Carolina.
If I had to bet $1,000 bucks on it I'd pick Dallas to win it all, even without their 2 injured big star players.

I'm all in on Toronto. When they're gone, so am I this season.
