Those are phenomenal times and I vaguely remember the triathlon posts on here. That's awesome!! He certainly knows what it takes to push yourself to failure, physically & mentally how it feels during that process and what the outcome is. I'd say 99% of the population never knows what that's like and how those moments will help you in life down the road! Sounds like a natural leader now. I agree. It's from the class 5 sectional meet last yr in Waynesville. (Our guys are in white jerseys.) My kid is the 2nd leg. 1st leg was a junior, 3rd leg a freshman and anchor was a senior. Senior walked on to MIZZOU and has been doing very well as a freshman. I was surprised he didn't get any offers. They broke a school record set in 1967. Time was 3:21.87. They ran 3:23 at state and finished 9th. They would have won state in Class 4. He avg'd 50-51 splits. Only ran a couple open 400's in JV meets and ran 53.9. I think he could easily run faster times, but coach had him training for 800 last yr and this yr, he had him training for 800-1600 before the injury. He started "sprinting" last week and wasn't able to make the 4x400 relay team, as they had a run-off before districts, but was still able to run 53.9 after being out pretty much all season, but he's headed to sectionals in Waynesville as an alternate. Yeah, he was a sophomore last yr. He has a club soccer teammate, (from another school), that ran 1:55.5x in the 800 this spring (as a sophomore) and won districts down here this past weekend with a 1:57.
