Fox News is reporting that Priest Holmes is going to be at the Chief's training camp, and get ready to play football once again. The Chiefs are going to take it slowly with him until they are sure he is able to play. He passed a physical from the team doctors. We will see what we will see. Be great to have him and LJ in the same backfield again as our new QB will need all the help he can get.

I think they will get a deal done. When is the real question. KC can't afford not to sign Johnson. Bennett is not an every play reliable backup.

Mel, I heard they were moving Boomer Grigsby to a back-up running back position. You heard anything?

I think there was some talk about letting Grigsby try the fullback position. Since we let the best blocking fullback in the league in Tony Richardson get away from us, we need help at that position. Time will tell.

Now it comes together...he was in town working with the kids at a summer football camp in Canton, IL. One of my buddys was down there with his son and talked to Boomer and he mentioned something about moving into a new role in the backfield, now I know what it is. He's a good kid.

If you haven't figured it out yet, Priest is nothing more then a negotiating ploy to try to get LJ to sign. End of story. I would bet even money that the great team player Priest (I never came back to KC to see my teamates in the last 2 years) Holmes never plays a down in a regular season game this year. This is nothing more then a typical King Carl move.

That would be Mitch Holtus. I guess we won't be able to hear his "human joystick" pet name for Dante Hall anymore except when the Chefs play the Lambs.
Holtus also happens to broadcast Missouri Valley Conference basketball games with Spoonhour; I don't think he makes up them crazy pet names on the MVC broadcasts.

Hey fellas, what will the Chiefs' record be this year? Can they make it to .500? Will they make the playoffs? Just curious what Chief Nation is thinking... Not the drinkers but the rational fans that realize the teams real strengths and real weaknesses...
Most of the national talking heads say it ain't looking too good for 'em...

I think it is tough to tell right now...#1 draft pick is unsigned, a top notch receiver which we really need...Larry Johnson is holding out for a new contract...a career back-up and a untried wannabe are fighting for the starting QB position...doesn't look good on paper...but the defense should be outstanding...I'd say a 8-8 season would be reasonable.
I think if Brody Croyle is the quaterback, a season of 6-10 is still in the right direction...if Huard is the QB, even if they make the play-offs, it is a step backwards...Croyle has to prove this year he is the QB of the future...and he can't do it on the bench!

WTF did your brain just fart, the object of the game is to win and win now, sure you build for the future, but not at the expense of winning now.

I don't know what burr got up yer butt, but just fart it out and relax...
Sure you can build for the future and win, but it is extremely difficult if your rebuilding an offense and a defense at the same time...the Chiefs will have another make-shift offensive line this year which makes their best weapon, running the ball, suspect and leaves more pressure for a throwing game which has in the past relied on the running game to allow weak receivers to get open...
Defense is going to be good...if not great...
Which goes back to what I said...if Croyle is the QB of the future, then he ought to start this year, get experience at the expense of a sub-par season...so when the rebuilding is done, he has the experience and leadership to take the team far into the post season...
so there...
