Piss on Perron for Pronger....and you know I'm a big Pronger fan. Perron is a perennial 40 goal scorer in a few short years......Pronger is washed up in those same years, while Perron will have 10 more to play.
He'll get stronger......he's a BABY....and the most pure skilled player on the team.
Johnson will develope fine without Pronger.
You want Pronger.....give 'em Burgland....or however you spell that puzzzy's name....now there is a guy who is AFRAID to hit....which Perron ain't.

PerOWNED cracks me up. Been awhile since I've seen one of our players punched and chased so bad after a whistle. Geoff Courtnall comes to mind.
Frenchie knows how to get under folks skin fast. I think it's the smirk.
No way you trade Poutine. He'll be a Bossy like sniper once he starts shaving. His hands are magic, did you not see that Wheel n Deal to Happy Meal last game?

It's probably gonna die tonight. I don't want it to, but it just looks like the boys aren't up to the task.

Andy I got to disagree here. I was all for Perron being traded for Pronger but not anymore. I agree with Griff that this kid has a ton of natural talent and has his best years hopefully ahead of him. I have seen many undersized guys have great NHL careers and while yes he is AWOL at times name someone on the blues this year that hasn't been. I really can't compare him to Demitra either. I never saw Pavol run around the ice and hit people and also never saw him get under peoples skin the way this kid does. I would love to have pronger back but these kids are good and we are going in the right direction for the first time in a long long time. One more thing defense has not been our number one problem this year, Plus we have Johnson back next year and we also have Petrangelo and Cole in the system and if they turn out to be half of what they say then we should be ok on D for awhile. Don't forget they have one of our best defensemen ever to work with them daily in MacInnis.

Hey Sptsman.......best player on the ice tonight, in a game with more pressure for the Blues then any in 5 years, was a 20 year old kid wearing #57. Get used to it. Next year he'll have 80 pts.......and will for years to come. That kid ain't going anywhere, take it to the bank.

Not knocking Perron. I think the kid has talent and he has the potential to become and remain a 1st line player in the NHL. But the only way your going to get a top-rate defenseman (or any top-rate player) under contract is to give up some value. If we could get him by giving up draft picks or other prospects, so be it.
Sad to see the season come to a close... IT will be fun to see what they do with free agency and/or trades, in the off season.
Still some great hockey to be played. I'll be taking in plenty of games, in the coming weeks. This is the best part of the NHL...

Gomers,
Real hockey players can't wait to get blown out of the playoffs, so that they can head to the golf course!

I hope the offseason is more fun than it is maddening. We have a great foundation to move the team to the next level but the core of this team is under 28 and that means we need as much patience as we do any blockbuster deals. Whether Bishop is the real deal (please god) or not...JD and Pleau need to be thinking/moving towards 3 years to contend and imo this series pretty much confirms that. I looked up the Pietrangelo kid with the Rivermen....he has 3 assists in 4 playoff games......not bad for a rookie D....

So the Blues get Karia, Johnson, Brewer back, and add Pietrangelo....now where are you? The defensive problem may be solved. Karia gives you another 50-70 pts, so the scoring problem gets some big help. Backes may or may not be the big grinding winger that we'll need......but Berglund sure as hell ain't. I don't know who will be available and at what price....but we need that guy. I'm not convinced about Mason, but Wamsley has done wonders with him so he is obviously coachable and talented....I have no idea about Big Ben......a guy who stands almost 7 foot tall in skates is an unknown in the NHL.
I think the core of the team right now is MacDonald, Oshie, Perron, Karia, Backes, Johnson, Brewer, and Mason...not in any order. That's almost 2 lines, a defensive pair, and a goalie.....you can add high end talent to that group using any of the others as bait.....but you leave that bunch alone.
On Oshie.....suprisingly bad playoff series for him. He looked lost and afraid he was gonna get a penalty most of the series. There's a guy who could have created havoc for Louongo in the crease......and he never showed.

I think Oshie tried to do too much and fell flat. He should be a big role player guy for us in the years ahead...and valuable at it...but not the go to guy.
We will have to give to get but I agree with your list....the other two notables who could develop very nicely with another year or two under their belt is Winchester and Polak.

This biggest disappointment for me in this too short of a playoff round was Oshie. This kid was parallel to the ice most of the time the last month and I had him penciled in for at least 2 monsta hits and 1 eye popping goal. This kid is known as a big game type so I'm still wondering if he was hurt or not. I hope he's not one who cranks it out during the season and then goes AWOL in the big games during the playoffs. He's a rook so time will tell on that.
PerOWNED is gonna be huge. He makes them "Oh chit" passes that goalies and D men hate. I've seen a couple times he made a pass and the other Blue wasn't even ready for it, wasn't even dreamin Poutine would toss them the biscuit when he did. AMAC is about the only guy who can handle his threadin of the needle.
DP also have a secret weapon, the mega blast which can lift him off his feet when fired.

I saw the Hawks come back Thurs nite and ALMOST win their opener in Vancouver......and from the boxscore on their game last nite seems they have found a seam in Luongo's game....if so you can turn out the lites on the Canucks! Hope the Blues are watchin them bring the puck up...no problem there....

Two great games......the Wings pretty much sucked out as usual for their winning goal. I hate that forking team. The Canes pulled it off.....but luck wadn't a part of it...the OT was friggen crazy with scores of uncalled penalties....ain't nuthin better 'n game 7 hockey like that.
It's over in 3 weeks Bubba.....bwaaaaaa
