Dear "soil temp" expert boneheads......
      #202479 - 04/01/10 07:51 PM

Ok fish, and Swamp Fox, and the rest of the "soil temp" crew......every resource I can find shows trhat the soil temp right now over all of Missouri is over 70 degrees.

Swamp Fox - your "when the dark green and llime green line passes over us" is about as WRONG as it can be.....that damn line is now somewhere over Greenland.

I was in some woods yesterday near my house that look like they are VERY close.....may apples just starting to pop up.....and I was in some woods in Central Missouri today that had NOT ONE BIT of greenery coming up anywhere....looked like December in there.

Overall....this forum has been piss poor for information....I'm gonna go look to see who moderates this forum and ban their ass.

Ok Griffin... You can go check the river bottom sands and find some. Kinda gritty when you eat em but still tasty none the less.

Rookie. Get your wal-marks bags out the week of the 18th and start walkng... alot. Look for the black leaves. I'll say no more.

There isn't a redbud in Central MO that looks even close to that. Atleast a week before they look like that Redbud. Stuck a thermometer in the ground in the woods today. 52.3 degrees at 7 am. Will be in SEMO tomm. to see what the trees and woods looks like. I'll look in the spots my grandpa used to find black shrooms early....the same spots the old man has been pickin since he was in jr high back in the early 60's. It should be close down south.....esp. after this rain hits tonight.

When I zoon in on Missouri the 60 deg line follows hwy 70.
Time to start looking.
Finding in quantity may still be a week or 2 away.
Besides, the freaking mushrooms don't have internet access.

"two grocery sacks" were picked just north of the arkansas line this weekend, but they were on the top of the hollers where the sun has been hittin during the week. the good spots down in the hollers are still pretty spotty. not warm enough yet.

and nope, no pics to prove it.

Guess I need to check the temp of the Mo River to know when to start. Just found out my mushroom honey hole in the bottoms is still 2-3'under water.

Still have the hills but won't find coolers full like in the bottoms.
