This t is advertised as a drinkin/fishin tournament..lot closer to a SCOUT 1 tournament than a BASS event...Having spent a year being called the "1st place loser" for finishing 2nd last year, ...lot more pride than $$$ involved. IIFID already has a secret bait but I am taking him on a part of the lake that he is not "intimate with"... Does that mean everybuddy uses Zebco 33's and Lazy Ikes? This was the first summer since age 3 that I caught 0 fish. Didn't go once. SAD. There is to be a beer consumed after each legal sized bass. Unfortunately, we only had three keepers..... NO lie detector tests... No screaming boats out of the marina.. gentlemen's agreement - no fishing until 6:30, but you can have the boat sitting anywhere you want... I know this is BASS heresy but I have even showed other boats what I caught fish on, where I caught fish and might have even handed over a spare lure once. My guess is that 1/3 of the crew isnt on the water at takeoff time.. another 1/3 gives up by noon... and 98% plus have had at least a Frostie at some point in the morning... personally, I tense up waiting for the whistle and generally like to greet the sunrise with a beverage.. good practice for duck season...
