Remember hearing in the late 60's of four high school boys skipping school one morning and shot 105 Canadas on private ground over around Swan Lake. They stated talking and all got caught? Pond swatting?

That bothers me even less than the geese thing, just sayin.
Only thing wrong with a Pop a Deer contest is, they don't roost in big wads like the geeeses do.. more tiime between shootin.

I know who them boys were/are, and one of 'em later had a career working for the MDC...
I know they all got familiar with the jail house in Keytesville for their goose-swatting incident.

Fountain Grove.
Do they still duck hunt there?

Yes on the ducks, but few geese there any more. Very little private goose hunting, used to be very popular goose hunting location.

HAHAHA Well Bruce, Kurt was asking a rhetorical question, but you're absolutely correct in your assessment.
Apparently the $28 million MDC-DU flood prevention project they installed over the last nineteen years at FG worked GREAT this summer, they only got flooded out sixteen times!
This is a fantastic improvement over the Pre- Flood Prevention Project record, when the Grove was flooded an average of twice every three years.
PROGRESS !!!! That's a 2500 percent improvement in flooding! And as you know... more flooding = less work = more time off for the MDC! AND none of that pesky habitat work or dealing with (ugh...) hunters.
Word has it, there's a helluva good cork crop up there this year, so gather up your Wolf Steel 6's and your Mossberg and practice your 40-note hail calls... the Grove is gonna be HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!
Of course, I'm only kidding. There's only a moderate cork crop.

Progress is regressive! How appropriate.
