I'm not gonna vote in the poll. 2 reasons:

(1) Something like this is gonna come out 90%+ pro-gun, anti-gun control. The result will be meaningless.

(2) Why should I help someone (anyone) build a data base of email addresses of people who are pro-gun rights. That implies that those people might OWN a gun. (Not me, though.)

I don't know what use might be made of a list like that in the future, and I sure don't trust the "progressives" in our government. I guess I grew up watching too many old black and white WWII movies:

"Halt. Hmmmm - your papers say you live in Paris, so WHY are you in St. Lo?". Next thing you know, the good guys and girls are all singing La Marseilles in front of a firing squad.

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not out to get you.

You are on the internet. They already know who and where you are.
The point of a poll like this is to have hard data for when a politican claims that "most Americans" support gun control.

I've read some slanted polls in my day, but this one could be champion of them all.

How do you get meaningful data from these 5 questions? It doesn't get to the heart of the debate in the least.

Here are the questions and my comments just below them in all caps:

1) Should the federal government regulate guns of any type?
Yes, it should
No, it should not

WHAT THE fork. THIS QUESTION IS SO VAGUE AND OUT IN LEFT FIELD IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE. IS THIS THE SAME THING AS SAYING THERE SHOULD BE NO GUN LAWS WHATSOEVER? I THINK THAT IS WHAT IT IS ASKING, BUT IN A MORE HIDDEN WAY. ELIMINATE ALL EXISTING GUN LAWS? WHAT DOES "ANY GUNS" MEAN? FULLY AUTOMATIC, BAZOOKAS, FLAME THROWERS? PEOPLE WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION WITH WILDY DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS OF WHAT THE QUESTION IS ASKING, BUT ITS CLEARLY LOADED ON THE FRONT END WITH "SHOULD THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REGULATE . . . . " WHICH BY DESIGN IS TO IMMEDIATELY GET YOU THINKING HELL NO.

2) Should Congress ban semi-automatic weapons?
Yes, it should
No, it should not

HUH? ALL SEMI-AUTO OR JUST CERTAIN TYPES? THIS MAKES IT SOUND LIKE OBAMA AND CONGRESS ARE WANTING TO BAN ALL TYPES, WHICH I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING CLOSE. LEADING QUESTION DESIGNED TO IMPLY THAT THIS IS WHAT OBAMA AND CONGRESS WANTS . . . BASICALLY ALL OF YOUR GUNS.

3) If Congress does not act, should President Obama use an executive order to ban or strictly control the sale of semi-automatic weapons?
Yes, he should
No, he should not

SAME AS ABOVE.

4) Do you agree that the Second Amendment gives citizens the right to own and bear guns without infringement?
Yes, I agree
No, I don't agree

ANOTHER LOADED QUESTION DESIGNED TO IMPLY THAT YOUR GODDAM CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS ARE BEING STRIPPED AWAY. VAGUE TWIST AT THE END OF THE QUESTION "WITHOUT INFRINGEMENT" . . . . WELL WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN? "BEAR GUNS" MADE ME LAUGH. BEAR ARMS, MAYBE?

5) Who did you vote for in the last election?
Barack Obama
Mitt Romney
Other

forking NONE OF THE ABOVE AND NONE OF YOUR DAMBED BUSINESS WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE POLL?

WHO WROTE THIS POLL, AN 8 YEAR OLD?

Nope. Like I said, someone is just building a database of pro-gun peoples' email addresses. Nobody gives a rat's ass about the poll "results".

At best (and this is probably the worst of it) that database will be sold to gun rights organizations for membership drives and donation pitches. Come election time, some conservative politicians will probably buy the list, too. So whoever put the list together makes a little money and conservatives can contact some possible supporters - not such a bad thing, I guess.

But the way things are going, there's a possibility that lists like this may be used in the future by jack-booted government thugs to confiscate firearms, or to round up reactionaries like us for "re-education".

This has happened in many other countries and different times, and in my opinion it's no longer so "impossible" in America. Democracy is a fragile thing - and it seems to me like the U.S. is moving AWAY from it now at full speed.

Well, the country is in the crapper thats for sure, but I think we are well past the days of govt. thugs being able to pull off any of the hardline crack downs you seem to live in perpetual paranoid fear of, Oz.

On a different subject, anyone hoping like I am that the sequestered cuts go into effect?

Apparently you have once again failed to keep up with the quotes and antics of the likes of Diane Feinstein and Chuck Schumer!!! I am really glad that they are in politics, along with Claire McCaskill, best reason there is to support anyone who opposes them! Paranoid? They give me exceedingly good reason!!!!!!!!

I've been looking at this post for three weeks and still can't wrap my head around your fugged up thought process.

1) Should the federal government regulate guns of any type?
Yes, it should
No, it should not

You get indignant and call this question "vague." Do you know the definition of "vague?"

These are the most straight forward questions possible.

You are an idiot.
