I admit to not thinking it would happen several times during this roller coaster season and so I only have one thing to say - free booooooooooooooooooooooooooooozzzzzzzzeeeeee!

How many more games are they going to leave Moose at 3rd base making Legion Ball type errors every game?

Put Colon there!!!! Or, even though it is the last week and you are almost locked to the WC race and hoping for a stumble from Detroit in order to take the series - I like moving Infante to 3rd and giving Johnny G the chance to prove himself at 2nd.

The White Sox were soooo close to making it an even division race last night.

Dabacus, Colon has a fractured finger. I think he is on the injured reserve or whatever they call it and isn't available.
I am not a Moooooose fan either but Johnny G. hasn't done anything in multiple chances. At this point they are kind of locked in to what they have. I HOPE that the middle of the offense may have woken up last night and do it for a few more days.
Detroit goes up against Chris Sale tonight so there is some hope.. If we end up in a tie with the Tigers we lose due to the head to head match up, right?

Correct - head to head against Detroit we are a Wild Card.

As for Johnny G...I disagree. They have not given him a chance. I hate to see providing someone with the opportunity in the last week of the race - but each time they bring him up they will let him start a few games sporadically and pull him in the 6th or 7th inning and not give him the full chance. Or if they are winning leave him in the game but only play him once every 10 games.

I do not think he has seen any field time since the last call up almost a month ago. Moose, on the other hand, is making two + mistakes per game...hell, give it a roll and see what happens.

Either way - I just hope they can sweep tonight and keep in the games the rest of the week. IF they can do that and exert what energy they need to in a single game playoff wildcard lineup - then I like that chances of 3 or 5....but then I am a believer

Dabs, at the risk of sounding like Dawg by quoting stats...
Here is Johnny G's stats for 4 MLB seasons:
462 plate appearances (about 2/3 of a full MLB season)
435 AB
.237 batting avg
.275 OBP
.333 slug %
103 hits 20 doubles, 5 triples and 4 HR
45 rbi
76 strikeouts/ 20 walks

I am not impressed. In addition to his below average defense, he has a low batting average, doesn't walk much, and doesn't hit for power. I think we already have a team full of those type of players, don't we?

I am still a believer.......he is 37 points over the Mendosa line....where is Moose?

How many strike outs does Moose have?

How many errors?

I don't have the time to google...but I bet the switch I talked about raises the stats

That is all!

And one to grow on! A slim chance for a 90 win regular season. Wouldn't have thought it possible three years ago..

Btw Oakland lost again. Looking more like the AL wild card game will be played in KC.

To a lot of Royals fans Gio is like the second string QB that everyone wants to start when the starter struggles. Then they do start and you realize why they are the second stringer..

Just casual observation but 8 days ago you declared that you were a hater. "No longer a Royals lemming" or something..

Ummmmmmmmmm......With the win tonight that makes 88 on the season. Regardless of the next two they would have to do the following -

1 win playoff
3 win division series
3 win American League series
3 win World Series series

So...With nothing said about wins being regular season....only pages of posts in regular season in my original quote -

I declare myself still in the game for a three sushi treat from Swampy.

I BELIEVE!!!

WE'RE IN!!!!! Now we can climb the next hill. One game behind Detroit with two to play. Now we will see if the Tigers have a little choke in them or if the Royals let last night's festivities cause complacency today.

THE CURSE IS DEAD!

That was a classic wait for it moment.

Was glad to see it happen and especially liked when pretty much the entire team came back on the field to show their support to the large crows base in Chicago that traveled there from KC to support them.

But, with that said, if I was New I would have never allowed any of it. Yes, it is nice to see after 29 years they have clinched a wild card birth at minimum.

I would have let them have the celebration on the field....took them in the clubhouse and gave them a speech about that is not where we want to be....There is a division to win and the only way they can do that is to win the next two days and let the chips fall where they may. Go play the next two games like they are game 7 of the World Series and then we will celebrate whatever the outcome.

I am afraid they are going to be hungover for today's game from party time and skunk it up....giving up any chance at the division title.

Dabs I hope your concerns aren'. warranted but who knows?

As you pointed out, the Royals fans at the game was remarkable!

Props to the Royals for a great season thus far!

Time to step up!

Well chit.....Minnesota has done their part big time the last two days but the boys in Blue could not get it done last night to make the division a tie going into game 162....

...can only hope for a 3 out of 4 games series from the Sox today and the rest is in the hands of Minnesota.

Sure would like to have a chance at a one game play off with Scherzer early this week.

Wu..............we've asked Dinkinger to volunteer for your series.

We had our chances last night and didn't avail ourselves of them. The last homer against Collins was the nail in the coffin. Funny thing is that the guy who hit three homers against us the last two nights was hitting below .100 at the time. I think he is around .180 now. Duffy never had his stuff from the get-go.

Mel, with regards to Ibanez, I see as much a coach as player with him. He can help with his confidence and experience. Youngsters like Gore and others benefit IMHO.

2-0 Royals bottom of the 2nd...!
