Why yes it is funny....LMAO Yall almost had another Don Denkinger type bad call at first base. Good thing there is replay. Congrats on win # 10.....wait yall didn't win.

Great 89 win season Royals. Maybe yall can get back there again next year.

Well it ended at 100...which doesn't mean anything without the 101st.

Now to prepare for the run in 2044

Just think.....if not for replay, you might very well have won, just like in 1985......oh......wait.

No, the really big play was made by Joe Panik at 2nd when he snagged Hosmer's grounder headed for center and turned into a double play. Otherwise, first and third with no one out. Hell of a play.

BTW, I don't know anyone who doesn't think Iorg was safe in '85. It was a bad call. I just like to needle because I know Dog will always rise to the occasion.

I'll leave the game victories count argument to someone else. Dabs can irritate on that one.

I think KC had a great season. They accomplished far more than anyone had dreamed in their wildest dreams. Do I think they should have sent Gordon? Yes, but I also believe if a good throw is made to the plate, he would have been out. It was a gamble either way; Perez has poor strike zone recognition and with him basically playing on one leg I would have considered pinch hitting for him. Any way you cut it, Bumgarner was just too good to overcome.

So, let's just sit back, enjoy the team's accomplishments, and get set for next year.

I read today that some fillusional KC bandwagon fans thought that was the BEST World Series eVeR..........I guess when you only watch 2 since 1969, you might have missed one or two other good ones.

I was also told when comparing STL greatness to KC greatness......one must only count since 1969. Somehow 15 trips to the playoffs is worse than only having 7 trips. Plus 7 WS trips only winning 3 is considered floundering I guess if that's floundering, I'd hate to see what they call have 3 straight 100 loss seasons

Be careful jumping off the bandwagon next year fellas, it's a long jump and you might pull a hammie.

What happened in 1985 Mel?? I guess I missed something. The only thing I remember is the fastest man in baseball couldn't outrun the infield rain tarp.

Should have had Dekinger throw out ceremonial first pitch last night for some mojo.

Thanks footsy. Maybe by then Joe Buck will be retired.

I just wonder who the Cardinals will be playing?

Dawg, you do have a way with words. I love arguing with you because neither of us takes it seriously or personally. This guy never jumped off the bandwagon. I had predicted 90 wins and got 89 so I'm satisfied. If we had got that last run in who knows what would have happened. It might have become a memorable series game seven. But they didn't so it's over. Getting as far as KC did is a testament to their tenacity as a team and bodes well for the future.

So, now it's GO CHIEFS!!!

For those fans who have stuck by their team through good and bad, I wish KC could have won it all for them. It's been a long time coming. I hope the casual fan catches crabs from his new Royals gear As long as the Cubs never win another title, I could care less who does once the Cardinals are out.

This is not at all a pointed post at you Jeff....it just happens that you said it above and I think it is a sentiment shared by most Cardinal fans at least....maybe most of the country for all I know.

I was in the St. Louis area during game one. Went to Buffalo Wild Wings at Boones Crossing in Chesterfield thinking it would be a happening place to watch the game. I don't like the food there but plenty of televisions and sports atmosphere.

They did have the Series on the main television but the crowd was more interested in watching soccer, minor league hockey and volleyball.

I wasn't expecting to walk in to a sea of Blue and bottles of Billy Butler bbq sauce all over the place but there was one person I saw there wearing a Cardinals shirt....you would have thought nobody there had ever seen baseball....which I know is not the case because I was in the area the month prior and someone wanting to go there and you could hardly carry on a conversation because of the fans on the edge of their seats for every play during a regular season Cardinals game.

It just must be different. In this area it is an event...The World Series. It was great to see the Royals in it but....yes, we are used to them not being there....I watch every game of the World Series regardless of the teams because it is the Series....just like the Super Bowl...and usually the Stanley Cup finals.

I am a Royals fan and have been for years....but I am also a baseball fan.

Just happen to be a fan of the most liked team in baseball instead of the most hated

I realize this might confuse you but they both play in a place called "HomeofToto" City. I'll let you take it from there. If it's over your head..........well that wouldn't surprise me. No pun intended.
