Ibanez with the Halos this year - 57 games 166 AB's = .157 Batting average .258 OBP .265 Slug Three HR and 10 total extra base hits. Yep he'll fit right in.
Personally I have always like the way he played. The Royals screwed up letting him go before. I hope the Kaufman Stadium Fountains are like the fountain of youth and he hits like the 2001 - 2003 Ibanez!

I am about ready to see Butler take a seat. His knack of hitting into double-plays is uncanny. Ibanez could not do much worse.

I heard MLB refused the Royals request to change Billy's number to 643..

And 4 of the 10 games left before the break is a home series against the Tigers....If they play them like the series in Detroit last month the KC Royals could be the division leaders at the break :wow:

Too bad today. Duffy got the ball up in the strike zone and the Indians hit a couple out of the park. That and great pitching and we drop 2 of 3. At least Butler didn't hurt us...

Little trouble brewing in the clubhouse. Butler doesn't like hitting 7th with Hosmer still batting 2nd.

Fork Butler!
Actually I hate to see it happen but when you are a DH and are not productive and also don't run to first base on ground balls and hit into so many double plays it probably isn't the best to try and shift the focus onto someone who actually hustles during his own slumps.
You don't have to be productive every time at the plate but respect yourself, the team, the game and the fans enough to be a ball player!

Well -
Gordon flown back to KC for an MR I on his right wrist....calling it a sprain right now but can't swing the bat.
Moose throwing up in the training room while the game is going on tonight with what is reported as the stomach flu.
Vargas went to hospital this afternoon throwing up and reported to have appendicitis and will have his appendix removed later in the week and Chen will be stepping into his spot.
We need the all star break in a bad way.

Glad for the win but Vargas out for 3 - 4 weeks after an appendectomy. Gordon getting an MRI on a wrist so sore that he can't even swing a bat. Both of those really hurt the team. I could argue that Vargas has been our best starting pitcher. The Royals will really miss Gordon's defense along with his bat. Hopefully it will only be a week to 10 days but I am fearful it might be worse than that..

We will see Saturday about Vargas....Chen might be able to hold his own although his fly out approach isn't best suited against Detroit power hitters.
Gordon is definitely going to hurt if he ends up missing a week or so...but although definitely not the same an outfield of Cain, Dyson and I bane isn't too bad of a line up.
