Haven't reported in a few days and don't want the Braves reports to be more current.
Now 56-52 with 5 more on this road trip before coming back home.

They played well Friday and yesterday. First home series loss for the A's since May. They have to go 29 and 23 or better for me to collect from Swampy. That's a winning % of 0.558. Current YTD winning % is 0.518 Is it possible? Yes.. is it probable - no..

With the win last night they win another series. 59 - 53 Now 3.5 out in the Central and .5 in the wild card. I need them to go 27 - 23 over the last 50 games to win the annual wager. Possible? Absolutely! Probable - still not completely believing in this Jekyll and Hyde squad.. but hopeful.

Beat the A's again. Now the first place Royals. Right there is a different hero every night. Tonight it was Escobar and the pitchers. Moore says Willingham is the full time DH until Hosmer comes back. Likely he will play OF after that..will they move Gordon to RF??? It makes the most sense.. Sounds like Verlander may be headed to the DL too..

I heard on the radio that the last time the Royals had sole possession of 1st place in their Division was 2003 and it was short lived. Prior to that was the WS year 1985.
Fun to see them having some success. I hope the fans are packing the stadium and getting on board. Nothing juices a player up more (legally) than having a packed house of fans behind them.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. I bet with this acquisition they send Hosmer to Omaha to get his swing back before he plays again.
But....it kind of nullifies the Ibanez deal somewhat and should give Aoki plenty of splinters.
If you add Willingham to the Gordon, Cane and Dyson trio I think that might be a solid outfield with some decent bats and two speedsters if they get on base.
Time will tell.

The Royals having decent choices is a nice problem to have, isn't it? Ibanez is now a left handed pinch hitter and that's about it. For the time being the outfield will be as it has been with a rotation based on Ned playing his "hunches"..

65 - 54. Vargas was on point last night. Shutout, CG and only 97 pitches. Game over in 2 hours and 7 minutes? Dayum! Still in first in the Central. 21 more wins and i am drinking on Swampy - and I doubt he would mind..

It got a little interesting in the end but another win nonetheless. 67 - 54 and the Tigers lost so Royals are now up 1.5 in the Central...

I just saw Butler get 2 hits in the same inning.
Suffice to say he's stepping up in Hosmer's absence. Fun to see the turnaround!. .

68-55. One more with the Twins tomorrow and they guaranteed at list a split in their last 8 series as they have won the other 7 and up 2-1 in this one.
Keep on the roll!

70 - 55 Still up two on the Tigers. In a lot of previous years for the Royals 70 wins was a season total!
