Was fun to watch Butler hustle his arse home.
Congrats to the Royals for their remarkable run. Makes for some great entertainment. Like Mel said, just enjoy the success.

I want to thanks the Royals for sending Pujol$ and crew home. He went to LAA to win championships..........and not for the money. Enjoy the rest of October baseball watching it from home. Too bad someone didn't put one in his earhole at least one AB during the series.
Maybe the Royals end up in be Series with STL. All the network execs would be jumping off a bridge with two Midwest teams in it again........and STL could get some payback for 1985. Maybe have Denkinger throw out the first pitch in KC for game one..........then trip and fall down the dugout steps on his way out.......living the rest of his life drinking food from a straw while someone wipes the drool off his chin

If that series should come to pass, we already have searchers out looking for Denkinger. Have a job open at first base.
I think you are correctomondo regarding the network execs. Would be a great influx of revenue for both cities, though.

I was reading some crap today about how the Royals fans are the best in baseball......you know all 14,000 of you that go to the games. Said being loyal for the last 29 years makes you loyal......I think it makes you crazy, but call it what you like. The Bandwagon is full in KC right now. Full stadiums, merchandise sales....life is good. Its good for KC. I hope KC finally has learned something from the city on the east side. You keep your home grown talent, grow it and promote it to the big leagues, where you KEEP it. Only one of the starting 9 to open the NLDS was a free agent playing for STL. 5 were draft pick/farm players. 2 were traded for our minor league players/prospects, and one an outright trade years ago. Building from within is where its at.
Yes the Cardinals are usually around the top 10 in payroll or just outside of it, but they pay to keep the talent that they bring up. That's a must. Promote and Pay. Not promote and trade then start all over. Cards have 14th highest payroll. KC has 18th highest. Seperated by about 15 million. That's nothing in todays standards.

Big thing about Cards long running success is as you say dog but plus the fact the Cardinals never really get saddled with huge dumb contracts.
Passing on Albert but signing Yadi. Genius. Passing on Beltran. Dishing Craig and his contract. Getting Grichuk with the Freeze deal.(Grichuk was drafted by Angels in front of Mike Trout in the same year.) Just to name a few.
In four short years Mozeliak has to be considered one of the best GM's in the league, as was his predecessor. Of course, the team scouts have a lot to do with his success as well.

Game one to the Royals last night at the Yard!!!
Orioles have not lost 2 games in a row at home since June I hear....
Terrence Gore is simply a friggin' bullet on the base paths. Saw him take second and by the time the peg arrived he was dustin' himself off.
It is interesting that the Royals are beginning to get some long ball help. Good timing for sure...

Btw last stand, one reason the Royals might remind you of the speed of the Cards. Like Ozzie used to back flip, and Dyson does the same...c.f.

Pitching, speed and D seem to always be there.
And then on top the new Royals offense is, well, astounding.

Even if Dawg is a Royals hater the fact remains that they have won six playoff games in a row and are two games away from the World Series.

"Ned The BrainDead." That was the moniker earlier this season. Had to do a little research to find it. I still find that reference funny as hell.
Even funnier is how Ned has defied the criticism and taken the Boys in Blue this far. Home-grown speed, defense, pitching and some recent hitting. Awesome. Speed is stressing the pitchers, infield and outfield. Every hit or pitch is different because of the run pressure.
We'll see if the Royals can keep it up...

Mac, 89 season wins; 6 playoff wins. Ned has pulled some bonehead dealios at times, but I think he has managed the pen really good this season.
BTW, congrats to the Cards for the walkoff win last night.

For anyone keeping score at home tonight was the 96th win this year
I bet they actually break the 100 mark.
With that said....I am buying Swampy his sushi - but it is the 96th win.
