I heard some squawking about the umpire's strike zone and how it hurt Shields. Something ironic about KC fans complaining about umpiring in a WS game...
There are pivotal moments in most games that define the game. Last night's 3rd inning was one such moment. Getting no runs with runners on 2nd and 3rd, with no outs was just heartbreaking. Then, to have SF come back in the top of the 4th and add 2 runs, well, it sure felt like the game was over... I was in bed by the 7th inning.
I think KC was going to lose this game regardless. Bumgarner has been simply unbeatable on the road, in these playoffs. Shields has not been clutch lately. Throw in the time off and the odds weren't good. It is a 7 game series and KC can still pull this off but a win tonight is almost a must.
Hoping to at least see a good game tonight...

On the time off thing, wasn't it just one day more than the Giants?
Give Bumgarder his due. He's real good.
But the Royals better figure out the magic so far is one thing but it's 3 rounds to win the WS.
Get your game back off Peavy or this thing might get ugly.

Been going full bore all day...they were bound to lose sooner or later.
I would have rather seen a win...but sure would have preferred a loss without the errors and misplayed balls that happened. It looked like the May Royals.
Hopefully they gathered themselves last night and have it figured out tonight for a win. It will be hard to bounce back from a 0-2 series going to the three game away segment that is for sure...but they have been down 0-2 in the World Series before and came out winners.....When was that?
In ending...you do have to give props to Baumgardner...He did look good. If they could have converted a couple runs in the 3rd it might have changed the momentum.....but it didn't happen so we won't know. Props have to be given to Hannibal Lect....I mean Hunter Pence too....that dude is the most unorthodox player I have ever seen in my life...He plays hard.
I am back in my lucky chair for the game tonight so my prediction is Royals 5-3.

Well last night sure helped the boys in blue. Guarentees that the series will come back to KC. Doesn't mean we'll win but it can't hurt. That ump last night didn't seem to be giving anyone the edges or calling high strikes from what I could tell. He sure like the low ones though. Good to see Gordon finally get a decent swing on a ball.

And that makes 99 wins for the year. One more and it will be 100!!
Don't know if I agree with Ned leaving Herrera in to bat with a runner on base that might have provided an insurance run with a PH....but maybe not either?? It worked out though.

Play solid D, make them earn every run.
Do that and I believe you guys will win your first WS.

Do that and I believe you guys will beat San Francisco in six instead of the seven game series when you beat the Cardinals for the last WS title.
Fixed it!

Let's hope that last night was the Royals' really, really bad game of the series. Sure showed why a couple of those pitchers will possibly be missing from next year's roster. Think Hunter Pence could outstare and scare Dracula? Looks like a madman in the hitter's box. Did get a kick out of Herrera's first at bat in his entire major league career.............comical. Also funny was Vargas heading for first on a 3-2 count.
Tonight is the most critical game of the series IMHO. If the team comes back to KC down 2-3 in games, I don't think two wins in a row is a viable outcome as Bumgarner would probably pitch game 7. They need to find a way to beat him tonight.
GO ROYALS!!!!

Hunter Pence is a dead ringer for "Marv" in the movie "Home Alone. "
Yeah, he's freaky!
I think his name is Daniel Stern and is one crazy dude in that movie series..

I am going to be traveling both Tuesday and Wednesday nights with two guys, both Royals fans, from KC. We are going to be in Birmingham Tuesday night and Ft. Lauderdale Wednesday night. I don't see much sleep on this trip...
Bumgarner is just about as good as anyone I have EVER seen in a post season. You can heap all the awards to want on Kershaw. I'll take Bumgarner any day of the week over him or anyone for that matter. And the dude is only 25!!!

Twice in the same year I find myself agreeing with you sptsman. Bumgarner is the real deal for sure. The Royals got beat last night and that happens....
....it is the Saturday game that pisses me off. To go up early with a decent lead and then make little league errors like they did and let the Vagiants come back and make them look that bad took the air of their sails and inflated the home town team and crowd.
Just hope coming home to close the end of the Series can do the same for the Royals.

The only thing missing from Pence's looks is to have him foaming at the mouth in the batter's box.
I think it is a tough row to hoe for the home team now.

I fear that guy at the plate more than any other SF Giant. If there were 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, you needed a clutch hit and you could pick one guy out of that lineup, he would be my choice. He is a Royal('s) pain-in-the-arse...
