From such an astute observation I assume you've been watching a lot of Royals baseball Griffin?!

No, but I've seen enough bush league crap from watching little league to recognize it when I see it.
Not to mention the Ventura guy is a forking beardedclam.

That's not a fair comparison Dabs.....you guys don't even have a hockey team and should prolly just stay out of the discussion.
Then again, in thinking this through, ya'll don't have a baseball team either.
I suppose just carry on.

Thanks.....but from the looks of it you all don't have a hockey team either They kind of remind me of the Chiefs.....always out in the first round of playoffs.
Time will tell if we have a baseball team or not....when your back is against the wall you either cave like has been done for numerous years....and not be respected by the rest of the country - or you come out swinging like you have something to prove....and not be respected by the rest of the country.
Do I agree with Venturas antics.....nope. But the kid has got talent.
Not going to get into an Internet debate about how many times one team has been hit in comparison to others or that kind of thing....but, if pitcher X for St. Louis hit a player after a pitcher for the team they were playing hit Molena two innings prior and pitcher X got ejected but the opponent pitcher had not been ejected or even warned....then Matheny couldn't even get one step out of the dugout to question it without being tossed you St Louians would be madder than when Albert left you
They are winning....which is being overshadowed, possibly by design by the talking heads who said they wouldn't, so I guess we will just see what they can do in the next few weeks with a very limited roster as many of them will be watching from the penalty box.

Bro - Ventura is a punk. Who cares if he is talented or not? You going to have your kids emulate him? Don't bother, I know the answer. Right now your team looks like a bunch of idiots. You can't defend it and it's bad for baseball. Your fans cheering it is even worse.....geez.
Bush League.

Ventura is a punk. And you are correct, if my kids acted like that they would get an azz whoopin from me.
I didn't think I would say this but the team....especially the pitching staff.....is missing Shields, whether they know it or not. I don't think filling his rotation spot was an issue but, apparently, his leadership role is being missed.
You can call it Bush league....you can call them punks...they can be called a number of things - this is my take -
They are like the clumsy young kid with the zits who got picked on up through junior high school and had no self esteem. Then they hit puberty and turned into something different and people thought they could still treat them the same way....but the clumsy zit kid was turning into studdly duddly and pushed back and had self esteem.
With the addition of Rios, Volquez, Orlando and Moralez this team has much more talent than last year.
They will take their lumps along the way....but every team now will be out to push their buttons and once they figure out how to channel the energy in the right direction it will only make them stronger. Hell...even though it is early...they are leading the division with one of the best records in ALL of baseball....picking up right where they left off.
Listen to what Ozzie had to say about all of this. Surely one of the best to ever play in St. Louis has a respected opinion?

Three games in a row again with a Royals player being hit. Two of the three up around the head with Escobar in last night's game being the latest. It's hard not to think that the other teams are targeting them at this point. And now that the Royals have a reputation, anything they do in return will get players suspended.
Ventura was not sharp again. Other than Volquez, the Royals starting pitching has not thrown well. That is a concern going forward if it doesn't improve. The big, mean Tigers coming to town this weekend and are half a game ahead in the standings. Unfortunately Volquez misses his start tomorrow against them because of the suspension and that won't help. Hopefully Young throws tomorrow like he did last year in Seattle.

Laugh all you wish........................today, they are in first place in the Central Division. They're not going away easily. Lots of games left. It's like last year all over again; a damned sight better than the previous 15 or so years. (or, as Yogi said, It's deja vu all over again)

If you look back you will see my initial thoughts and I stick by them....today is May 1st. The last two years the Royals could not win if they were playing against my great grandmother.
The next 31 days will set the rest of the year...if they can even play .500 ball in May they will take the division without any doubt.

Dabs aren't you somewhat concerned about our starting pitching?? I know that I am. Ventura and Duffy have been inconsistent and so far Vargas and Guthrie have not thrown well. Volquez has been the only starter who has been consistently good.
And I think we've already had more injuries than last year. If you throw in suspensions thry've had a lot of starters already miss games. I hope they are just getting that out of their system. I am not unhappy with a split with the Tigers considering how many players we were missing this weekend.

After his performance Friday it would not surprise me to see Young used more.....how soon I think depends on the performance of Vargas and J Guts.
Ventura will settle down I think - not sure on Duffy.
Plan is for Finnegan to work into a starting role also - at sometime in the future. With them bringing him up because of the suspensions that could be sooner than later depending on what happens.
Splitting with Detroit and it being the first series all year they have not won....but still didn't lose...is not a bad thing especially considering the injuries and such...but you have to capitalize on the in-division series to be in the hunt at the end of the year.
Like I said - I think May tells the story of the rest of the year....right now they are 1-2 for the month....hope .666 ball doesn't turn into .333 ball but we will see in the next 25 days.
That is my take.....as a non-talking head.
A home sweep against Cleveland would help
