45 I was in the stadium for that one. Hotter than hades. I thought the base running blunders early in the game would bite them in the ass but luckily they did not,

Today was tough to watch. No pitching, no hitting, just a drubbing by the Bosox. Glad to see 'em leave town!
13-2, mostly because of half a dozen bad pitches that got aired outtta the yard. Young was tagged for 7 runs, pretty much all long balls. He just did not have his control this outing...
Ahead 3 1/2 but this one hurt plenty!

44 They beat "King Felix" in his own house. A very well played game by the Royals. Blanton was on! He gave up a homerun in the first and then only one other hit and handed it off to HDH to finish it. Keep Vargas and Duffy on the DL a little longer please!

All part of the grand conspiracy to make sure that Royals fans don't get to keep snything nice..
I still think there would be a whole different take on it by the talking heads at ESPN, Fox Spirts, etc if it were Yankees, Dodgers or Cubs players. There would've very little of the "outrage"..

The only reason this is even an issue is some genius decided it would be the basis for 'home' team in the World Series
with that said---
Y'all better vote and vote often--
several players have 'All Star' clauses and MLB is counting on you to buy jerseys, foam fingers and other team merchandise etc
"and it counts"

Your point is moot. None of those teams (except possibly the Cubs) would do such a thing. Most fan bases don't have 30 year playoff droughts and fan bases that quadruple in size when the winning starts anew. Even the Cubs fans stay loyal through the losing. Personally, I think it is great for KC to have the Royals winning and the fans coming out in droves. But this internet voting thing is a bit of an embarrassment to KC. That being said, they're still getting my votes...

The fact that it counts is absolutely ludicrous. Dear Butt Selig - I know you owned a team AND were commissioner (and that wasn't a conflict of interest -wink wink) both but you can't have the All-Star Game work both ways.
Sptsman if you don't think there is a serious bias in the national media towards big market teams I have a bridge to sell you.

43 Nice 4 iron by Moose gets them started. A left handed hitter taking a left handed pitcher yard on a line drive to right field on a pitch about ankle high is pretty impressive..

Yep indeed, IIFID.
I'll be glad when the Royals are back from the west coast. Dang games aren't over until 12:30 am or later...but they are winning their share!

40 Five and a half game lead in the Central. Injuries starting to pile up but so far they aren't major at least.

38 Offense still struggling but found a way to win. Only 4 hits but scored three runs n a walk off. Defense was outstanding. Let's see how many Royals are going to Cincy.

Got a split with Twins but it sure was a struggle. Royals swinging at too many pitches out of the strike zone. Still hanging in there on my 90 wins prediction.

37 Walk off granny by Orlando to win the first game of the day/night double headers. Royals win again when they really didn't play all that well.. No style points in baseball though!

36 Gordo has seven hits and six rbi in the double header. Not too shabby. The biggest hit was by Escobar to clear the bases. Go for the sweep tomorrow.

Am I wrong or did I hear that this is one of those rare 5-game series?
Anyway it goes, Royals played good ball. It's bad, though, when you load the bases and can't score anybody. My 90 win prediction looks pretty solid right now.

So, what's the skinny on Gordon? Looks like he's going to miss some time... Is he out 2 weeks or 2 months or more?
Do the Royals become buyers at the trade deadline now? If they're good enough to get back to the WS, don't they deal some of that minor league depth now? If Gordon is down for an extended period, don't they have to?
