He had an MRI last night. All Royals fans are waiting on pins and needles to hear. Supposedly won't know anything until this afternoon. Word from the clubhouse last night was best case is at least a month. Sounds like it could be a season ending injury unfortunately. I'm really surprised about him because no one on the Royals (or maybe in MLB) is more fanatical about taking care of themself than Gordon. I think the news today will make the decision for them. Supposedly they were already looking into getting Justin Upton before this even happened..

I think they already have the outfield replacement for Gordon on the roster. Orlando can help if given the chance with occasional backup from Dyson. That still leaves a question mark on Rios though in my opinion. They just have not found that right field position player in the last few years.
If Gordon is out for the year, which I think he will be - Ned updated at the end of his news conference last night saying they didn't want to speculate but new reports indicated he could be out for months - if Orlando fills it for the rest of the year it could develop him into that outfielder they are looking for and him move to right next year to complete the trio.
Silver lining in the cloud. This will also nock down Gordon's marketability going into a contract year as teams will be hesitant about the recovery I bet. That coupled with the opportunity to play with his brother who is working his way through the system well could just keep him in "HomeofToto" City for a few more years. .??

A little while ago it was released that he has a grade 2 strain and is expected to miss two months at a minimum. Bad news for the Royals. I'd hope that they are now serious buyers before the trade deadline as I don't have the faith you do Dabacus in either Orlando or Dyson as a replacement.

A good start after the All-Star break. 19 games over .500 going into tonight's second game.
75 games left - how many do you think they'll win? I am guessing they go 41 - 34 from here out giving them an overall record of 94 - 68. That should be good enough to win the Central.

Lost last night to Pirates. I even wore a Royals shirt and cheered for them, for another 1/2 game lead for the Cardinals.................allegedly. I blame Modin and Jeff Craig for the loss.
The loss did have some good things to ponder while at the ball park though.

I didn't take the picture, but I did enjoy the view with every jump and cheat for the Royals. A fowl ball literally smashed the seat beside behind me as I was looking at the peanuts being thrown in my direction. Modin says he heard it wiz by and he was beside me. I think it burnt my sideburns as it went by. It was close and fast.......off a Pirates bat. I knew I didn't like them for a reason. Suckers were trying to take me out. The dude who was sitting in that seat left for a beer. It was a screamer that would have broke some chit had it hit him in the chest. I guess beer saved his life

I had thought Vargas was done the first time he went on the DL when they started talking about the elbow area (flexor muscle strain). Did help the Cards gain some more room in the division. Sure would be nice to win tonight and get to 22 games over .500. Rarified air up there for the Royals.

I will say this........the last AL game I went to was in 2011 with some Rangers fans. We talked about how cool it would be the Rangers to play the cards in the Series. Same conversation was had Monday night. I think it will be another I-70 series, just with a different outcome than 1985. Denkinger can't give this one away
