Folks,
Cody Herschbach, the one and only son of our own H20Dog, will sign a National Letter of Intent on April 8th to play football next Spring for Bethel University. Cody chose Bethel from a number of scholarship offers he has received during the past year.
Hell, it seems like it was just yesterday when we had our boys up in Canada for the café outing......they were 7 and 8 year olds.
I guess we've all known each other a while at this point, but it sure is fun watching our kids grow up into young men.
Congratulations to Cody for being able to see his hard work pay off!!
Congrats to Jeff and Kim for a great job raising a fine young man.

Good deal. I was impressed by his play when we watched his high school game last year. The best part is he's gonna lose that forkin school mascot name. WTF is a kewpie any how?

Mongo, as Modin likes to call Cody, worked his ass off on and off the field to make it happen. He had over 60 schools talking to us about wanting him to play football. From D1-AA, DII, NAIA, & DIII, with offers from 20+ schools. In the end he chose Bethel University. $30,000 a year is going to go a long way towards his degree. He will be studing in their Physics program and will eventually get an Engineering Degree with their 3+2 program at University of Minnesota. The physics program is one of the top 20 in the nation and he plans to minor is Spanish.
They win a ton of games, are constantly ranked in the the Top 10 and make the playoffs on a regular basis. Its going to be nice to watch great football once again. I'm also looking forward to the walleye fishing and duck hunting when we go to visit.  Not having to cheer for a naked baby will be a good thing. I guess I'm officially a Royals fan now, and will have to buy some Royal blue colors and gear. I would have never thought that would have happened. 
Proud day for the entire family next week. I got to raise my favorite football player. Doesn't get any better than that. Looking forward to this journey.

I always had to ask when the play was over how many yards we got or what happened. Too busy watching Cody hit people. He loves pancakes. I know after the Hazelwood Central game, that poor kid across from him had a sore ass. Towards half time he was asking to come off the field and needed a break wondering what white kid they brought in to whip his ass.
Hickman didn't win a ton of games, but they played the 6A state champ, the 6A runner up, the 5A state champ, and 4 games against Elite 8 teams. Mongo held his own all year long against some great teams and players.

Congrats Jeff!! I'm sure it will be a proud moment!
I imagine it will be bittersweet when he leaves for school. The grocery bill will likely be cut in half.. He's a hoss!!
