Yes I have people mow my grass. If your kids don't mow your lawn, and they still live at home, you and your kids needs your asses kicked. One in HS. The other home for the summer from college. They mow the grass, and I promise to feed them, Put gas in the Ranger, and chemicals in the pool. I in turn frees 8 hours of my week. Work smart, not hard. Maybe you understand it. Maybe you don't. I'm bettin the latter.
As for knowing more than everyone I n here when it comes to duck hunting.....I've always told griffin there are people out there that might have done it better. He just don't listen. When I hunt in 27 more states, a couple more Great Lakes, & a Sea......... and hopefully kill a duck somewhere, I'll finally be able to quit duck hunting. Until then, it's all a learning curve. Anyone can kill a duck in their same sandbox day after day, especially a sandbox next to a mega refuge.
I just wish u had your passion for duck hunting Kim.....after all you do get after it hard year in and out, year after year, season after season, and keep on going. :

Haters gonna hate. Jealously runs deep. Same story, different day. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Apparently Red wants everyone to know he is getting to write an article on hunting. I'm impressed!!!! I didn't realize he could write. Having people mow your own grass is bad. You can ONLY be a great duck hunter if you know Red or some of the minions he likes. I think that's a good cliff notes version.
You don't have time to be here. You have ammo to reload. Get busy.

I read between the lines. I know that might tough for you, but not for others. The cutting your own grass gave it away, since you were wondering. I can't believe you called griffin out for being a world class duck hunter. He ain't killed a duck either. One day it will happen though. One day.

redleg,
Yer dealin' with a certifiable idot. Why would you expect anything else?
Dog lies under the porch waiting for a car to drive past so he can chase it. He's only good for 50 yards or so and he goes right back under the porch. After a few times everybody learns to just ignore him....

I see Mac is still making his after 9pm deep in a bottle posts. Mac, you're a drunk keyboard ninja, who would have trouble fighting a 7th grade girl on her first period. I you want to test your theory about chasing barking dogs, let me know. I'm pretty easy to find. I know a van full of homers that thought the same thing one drunk night.
Like I told you before. I don't like you bandwagon jumping, borderline midget, topwater ass. I never have. I'll ignore your posts and you can ignore mine. Don't drag me into your posts, and I won't drag you around by your feet. Let a sleeping dog lay.

It's some 630 miles roundtrip from my abode to yours. I kinda get the feeling we ain't much friends no more. Can't fathom finding yer invite sincere, Jeff.
Foots was your buddy, and my friend for 17 years through the cafe. Each of us will remember John in our own way.

Ya'll need a voice of reason in this---shall we say, unfortunate turn of events---I will hereby volunteer, because you know, I liked ol' Foosie too.
So then, in the spirit of Foots:
Dearly Beloved Cafe-ites, we are gathered here today to bury the hatchet (and no H2O, not in Mac's forehead):
H2O, will you hereby, in front of Wu and everybody, promise not to B-Slap Mac at your get-together?
And Mac, will you make a promise also, and that would be not to irritate H2O to the point of his forgetting his promise, leading to him then commencing to slap the dog shiat outta you?
With the power invested in me, I now pronounce you...in a cease-fire. You may now kiss each other...icky poo-poo!
Set it aside for Footsie, eh?

Jones yer gesture is appreciated. I won't be making this particular trip, but I have family in the Columbia area, so I do get to those parts some.
I might take along my nephew just in case....he first graduated with a degree in acting/theater a number of years ago, and now he's an Esq.practicing attorney. I told him there out to be a law against that kind of education!LOL! But I digress.....
Dog is just fine in my book, and I am so guilty of making sport of him. I been busted out...

I do what I can kids---And see, in this instance, ol' Rodney King came immediately to mind, when he said:
"Whut da fuuuuk---Fit-ty Dollah fo' one dinky lil' rock?"
Wait a minute...wrong quote, actually, what he said was:
"Can't we all jes' get along?"
So c'mon, you two wild-eyed keyboard joustin' maniacs you, ya'll maybe might could prolly TRY to get along a tad better---and if not for Rodney, then by gum, do it for Foots, yeah huh?

Keep this with you Mac, read it if you so desire to take up the battle again---and you might then recognize that it is all for naught, far into eternity...
This poem is from General George S. Patton his own damn self, and it speaks of the many past lives as a warrior that he firmly believed he had lived:
THROUGH A GLASS, DARKLY by Gen. George S. Patton, Jr.
Through the travail of the ages, Midst the pomp and toil of war, Have I fought and strove and perished Countless times upon this star.
In the form of many people In all panoplies of time Have I seen the luring vision Of the Victory Maid, sublime.
I have battled for fresh mammoth, I have warred for pastures new, I have listed to the whispers When the race trek instinct grew.
I have known the call to battle In each changeless changing shape From the high souled voice of conscience To the beastly lust for rape.
I have sinned and I have suffered, Played the hero and the knave; Fought for belly, shame, or country, And for each have found a grave.
I cannot name my battles For the visions are not clear, Yet, I see the twisted faces And I feel the rending spear.
Perhaps I stabbed our Savior In His sacred helpless side. Yet, I've called His name in blessing When after times I died.
In the dimness of the shadows Where we hairy heathens warred, I can taste in thought the lifeblood; We used teeth before the sword.
While in later clearer vision I can sense the coppery sweat, Feel the pikes grow wet and slippery When our Phalanx, Cyrus met.
Hear the rattle of the harness Where the Persian darts bounced clear, See their chariots wheel in panic From the Hoplite's leveled spear.
See the goal grow monthly longer, Reaching for the walls of Tyre. Hear the crash of tons of granite, Smell the quenchless eastern fire.
Still more clearly as a Roman, Can I see the Legion close, As our third rank moved in forward And the short sword found our foes.
Once again I feel the anguish Of that blistering treeless plain When the Parthian showered death bolts, And our discipline was in vain.
I remember all the suffering Of those arrows in my neck. Yet, I stabbed a grinning savage As I died upon my back.
Once again I smell the heat sparks When my Flemish plate gave way And the lance ripped through my entrails As on Crecy's field I lay.
In the windless, blinding stillness Of the glittering tropic sea I can see the bubbles rising Where we set the captives free.
Midst the spume of half a tempest I have heard the bulwarks go When the crashing, point blank round shot Sent destruction to our foe.
I have fought with gun and cutlass On the red and slippery deck With all Hell aflame within me And a rope around my neck.
And still later as a General Have I galloped with Murat When we laughed at death and numbers Trusting in the Emperor's Star.
Till at last our star faded, And we shouted to our doom Where the sunken road of Ohein Closed us in it's quivering gloom.
So but now with Tanks a'clatter Have I waddled on the foe Belching death at twenty paces, By the star shell's ghastly glow.
So as through a glass, and darkly The age long strife I see Where I fought in many guises, Many names, but always me.
And I see not in my blindness What the objects were I wrought, But as God rules o'er our bickerings It was through His will I fought.
So forever in the future, Shall I battle as of yore, Dying to be born a fighter, But to die again, once more.
*****
Had he lived until the advent of the 'puter, and The Net, betcha dollars ta donuts he woulda jumped right in, blazing away on his trusty keyboard, and then added Message Board Wars to his list of battles in yet another poem...mayhaps?

Howdy Unc Always glad to see ya-- nice to have a little erudite post here--even if it is poetry
Glad you didn't sneak a little Rock-Gomer-Duke crap into the discussion
Knowing your love of knowledge, here is a little tale for you ........
Back in younger days, me and some other knotheads I went to college with would hitch a ride to the Big Heart Tavern located at the end of HWY 33. One of the knotheads girlfriend's dad would pick us up and take on in to Tulsa(about 30 miles away).
Of course we would have a few barley pops waiting. I happened to notice that an icepick was stuck in the wall near the pool table.
Realizing that survival in red neck country sometimes balanced on knowing the local customs, I asked the bartender why the icepick was stuck in the wall
His reply was "arguments"
Now there ain't no icepick here--as far as I know, no one has been seriously injured from what has gone on in this dump but we have always operated on if you you are big enough....or dumb enough to say something then you are big enough or dumb enough to suffer the consequences
Seems to have worked so far and from what I have seen, these would have been considered love taps from the olden days when you and I cut our teeth and made our bones at HJ's and other places
Like I said Unc--good to see ya--jump in anytime

Good to see you too Wu!! Yeah, that Duke, Gomer, Prince, and Michael Jackson stuff can be pretty dang funny with proper photoshop work, and just the right words to go along with the ruse...but of course, not everyone has the type sense o' humor TO find it funny---Boards like the one where that stuff gets put up reg'lar-like have always pretty much been all about shiats and giggles to your's truly here, so I try to supply plenty of 'em to people who "get it"---but there are some folks still out there who take it all way too serious, and often live and die by The Post.
You have witnessed it too, many times, in many places---and in fact, those people who get offended are good for an additional laugh when they go Bat Shiat, Finger Painting on The Walls With Doody Crazy over some BS Post, eh wot?
My Board Battlin' days are pretty much over, as I don't derive the pleasure I once did goin' keyboard to keyboard and slicing and dicing worthy opponents---must be them 65+ years I be packin' nowadays, prolly...Board Battlin', constant huntin', fishin' and chasing poontang just ain't what it used to be...A fella like me can live vicariously now thinking back, and often reveling in all the wins, and losses in those arenas, and not get wet, cold, tired, skunked, or a case of The Black Mongolian Clap quite so easily as in days gone by...now I find my pleasure in a warm toilet seat of a winter morning, and a newly busted seal on a half gallon of Jack...
Just don't be the same as it once was on The Duck Boards nowadays none neither---The New Generation done dropped the ball, or just never did get it properly passed on to them, seems to me.
Anyways, I'll drop in now and again, and not ruffle any feathers...on purpose.

O.K. Griffin, here's a poem that jes' maybe even you will appreciate:
I stuck my head up a Billy Goat's Azz The smell was enough to blind me, The more I smelt the more I felt The girl I left behind me.
If I forked her once't I forked her twice't Musta forked her once too often, I musta sprung some dang thing 'Cause now she's laying in a coffin!

Better? And yeah, if ya want, go ahead and send it to one o' them thar Reader's Digest Poetry Contests...Feel free to borrow it, and put yer name under it if ya got's you a mind to.

Indeed, Master Wu, I as age I find that many of the memories of my younger self have diminished.
While I am often called upon for a virtuoso violin performance, or to commission an original painting for the United Nations, among other entities, I no longer feel the to share my talent and vision with the rest of the world, outside of the philanthropic endeavors I am already mired in.

At first I considered these places as more like a meth house. Everyone sitting around going as fast as possible, and picking at scabs.
Do you remember you and I talking in the mornings on the original Arkie Board, and you would pop the threads?
Now, I said Old Jones arrived that way. I didn't say he left that way. Everything becomes different when you are face to face, like DAWG is getting at.
I learned a bunch from WJ, and maybe he from me.
To which, I'm sure foots might just yell, "BOOOLSHIT", but it's true.

True enough.
If I remember correctly I learned Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata from an old Arkie Board member, but I was the first to apply it to the mouth harp. I taught myself over 2 nights while drinking a Merlot that I had developed in Paraguay during some down time on a Lowland Mountain Snipe hunt.
